❖ Ruling on the Fast of a Woman Who Experiences Menstrual Blood Without Prior Sensation
This excerpt is taken from the book "500 Questions and Answers for Women", based on the fatwas of the scholars of the Haramain. The translation is by Hafiz Abdullah Saleem.
❀ Question:
If a woman feels blood discharging, but in reality no blood appears before sunset, or she experiences menstrual pain (but no blood), will her fast for that day be valid? Or will she be required to make up that day?
❀ Answer:
If a woman is in a state of purity while fasting, and she feels the onset of menstruation but the menstrual blood only begins to flow after sunset, or if menstrual pain begins but no blood appears until after sunset, then her fast for that day is valid and sound.
✔ In the case of an obligatory fast, there is no need to make it up.
✔ In the case of a voluntary fast, its reward remains intact and is not invalidated.
