Use of Menstruation-Preventing Medicine for Ṭawāf al-Ifāḍah in Ḥajj
Question
Can a woman use menstruation-preventing medicine in order to perform Ṭawāf al-Ifāḍah during Ḥajj?
✔ Answer
Al-ḥamdu lillāh, waṣ-ṣalātu wa-salāmu ʿalā Rasūlillāh, ʿammā baʿd!
◈ Ṭawāf al-Ifāḍah is one of the essential pillars (arkān) of Ḥajj.
◈ Without it, the Ḥajj is not complete; it is a fundamental component of the pilgrimage.
◈ Especially for women traveling from abroad with limited time in Makkah or an urgent return schedule, it is necessary to perform Ṭawāf al-Ifāḍah within the prescribed period.
◈ In such a situation, if a woman is in a state of menstruation and fears missing Ṭawāf al-Ifāḍah, there is no harm in using menstruation-preventing medicine.
◈ By using this medicine, she may complete Ṭawāf al-Ifāḍah and continue her Ḥajj without interruption.
