It is narrated from Sayyidunā Abū Rāfiʿ (may Allāh be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said:
“Let me not find one of you reclining on his couch, and when a command of mine (a ḥadīth) reaches him—concerning something I have ordered or prohibited—he says:
‘I do not know. We shall follow only what we find in the Book of Allāh.’”
(Kitāb al-Umm by al-Shāfiʿī: 15/7, 289; chain is authentic; also in Musnad Aḥmad: 8/6; Musnad al-Ḥumaydī: 551; Sunan Abī Dāwūd: 4605; Sunan al-Tirmidhī: 2663, and he said: ḥasan ṣaḥīḥ)
This true prophecy of the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ regarding the deniers of Ḥadīth has been completely fulfilled. Since the time of the misguided groups such as:
✔ Khawārij
✔ Rāfiḍah (Shīʿah Extremists)
✔ Jahmiyyah
✔ Murjiʾah
✔ Muʿtazilah
…the fitnah (tribulation) of denying Ḥadīth has existed upon the earth.
