Three Prohibited Times for Performing Burial in Islam

⚠ Three Prohibited Times for Burial in Islam
Written by: Imran Ayyub Lahori

❖ Burial is Prohibited at Three Specific Times

It is narrated from Hazrat ‘Uqbah bin ‘Amir (رضي الله عنه) that:

ثلاث ساعات كان رسول الله ينهانا أن تصلى فيهن أوان نقير فيهن موتانا
"There are three times during which the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) forbade us to perform prayer or bury our dead."

✦ The Three Prohibited Times Are:

When the sun is rising, until it fully ascends.
When the sun is at its zenith, until it declines.
When the sun begins to set, until it has completely set.

📚 Muslim: 373, Kitab Salat al-Musafirin wa Qasriha: Chapter on the Times in Which Prayer is Prohibited

✔ Key Point:
Burial and prayer are both prohibited during these three time periods. Observing these restrictions is a part of following the Sunnah and maintaining the sanctity of religious practices.
