Three Prayers

Prayer on the Night of Wedding:

❀ Abu Sa'id, the freed slave of Abu Usayd, narrates:"I married a woman, and on my wedding night, some companions of the Prophet ﷺ were present. When the time for prayer came, Abu Dharr wanted to lead the prayer, but Hudhayfah pulled him back and said, 'The owner of the house has more right to lead the prayer.' Then he asked Abu Mas'ud, 'Is that correct?' He replied, 'Yes.' Abu Sa'id said, 'I then led them in prayer while I was a slave at that time. Abu Dharr and Hudhayfah instructed me that when I go to my wife, I should perform two Rak'ahs of prayer, and if I do, my wife should pray behind me.'"

[Al-Awsat by Ibn al-Mundhir: 4/156, and its chain is authentic, Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah: 2/217 (summary)]

Benefit: Salman al-Farsi (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:

"When one of you gets married, on the night of consummation, he should pray two Rak'ahs and lead his wife in prayer. If he does so, Allah will bring goodness into the house."

[Kashf al-Istar: 2/169, Hadith 1447, Al-Kamil by Ibn Adi: 2/233]

Its chain is "weak," as its narrator Hajjaj bin Furukh is "weak."◈ Al-Hafiz Al-Dhahabi writes:"This is a severely objectionable Hadith."

[Mizan al-I'tidal: 1/464]

Prayer upon Seeing a Bad Dream:

❀ Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:

"When any of you sees a dream that he dislikes, he should pray two Rak'ahs and not tell anyone about it, for it will not harm him."

[Musnad Ahmad: 1145, and its chain is authentic]

Prayer upon Accepting Islam:

❀ Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates:

"Thumama al-Hanafi accepted Islam, and the Prophet ﷺ instructed him to take a bath. He took a bath and prayed two Rak'ahs. Then the Prophet ﷺ said, 'Your brother’s Islam has become good.'"

[Musannaf Abd al-Razzaq: 1/318, Hadith 19226, and its chain is authentic]

This Hadith has been declared "authentic" by Imam Ibn al-Jarud [15] and Imam Ibn Khuzaymah [253].
