Firt ermon

Brother in Ilam! Allah Almighty ha commanded the believer to peak clearly and traightforwardly.

The command of Allah Almighty i:

Reference: (Al-Ahzab 33: 70-71)

"O you who have believed, fear Allah and peak word of appropriate jutice. He will [then] amend for you your deed and forgive you your in. And whoever obey Allah and Hi Meenger ha certainly attained a great attainment."

Clear and traightforward peech mean peech that contain no lie or ditortion and i baed on truth. After commanding thi, Allah Almighty mentioned two benefit of it. One i that Allah will amend the deed of thoe who peak clearly and traightforwardly, and the econd i that He will forgive their in. Therefore, every Mulim hould avoid lying and peak truthfully and clearly.

Allah Almighty ha commanded all believer to be among thoe who peak the truth.

The command i:

"O you who have believed! Fear Allah and be with thoe who are truthful."

Allah Almighty gave thi command to the believer after accepting the repentance of thoe three noble companion, may Allah be pleaed with them, who tayed behind without excue from the Battle of Tabuk. When the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, returned, intead of giving fale excue like the hypocrite, they poke the truth and admitted their in.

Becaue of their truthfulne, Allah Almighty accepted their repentance, and thu they were aved from the punihment of Allah which He threatened the hypocrite who gave fale excue with:

﴿إِنَّهُمْ رِجْسٌ ۖ وَمَأْوَىٰهُمْ جَهَنَّمُ جَزَآءَۢ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَكْسِبُونَ﴾

"They are impure, and due to their deed, their abode i Hell."

One of thee three noble Companion, may Allah be pleaed with them, i Hazrat Ka'b ibn Malik, may Allah be pleaed with him, who narrate that I wa extremely properou at the time of the Battle of Tabuk, and the orchard were laden with fruit. When the noble Companion, may Allah be pleaed with them, et out, I thought that if I et out later, I would be able to join them, but that did not happen. They went far ahead, and I wa left behind. Whenever I tepped outide the houe, it addened me that there wa no one like me who had tayed behind from thi battle except the hypocrite or thoe whom Allah had declared excued.

Then when I found out that the Meenger of Allah, peace be upon him, had et out from Tabuk, I became deeply addened and began to think of variou fale excue to avoid hi dipleaure. I alo conulted ome enible people among my houehold regarding thi matter, but when I heard that the Prophet, peace be upon him, wa about to arrive, the fale thought left my heart and I decided that I could only be aved by peaking the truth in front of him.

When the Meenger of Allah, peace be upon him, returned, he performed two rak'ah in the moque, and then at down to meet with the people. Thoe who had tayed behind from the battle came to him, all wearing oath and preenting variou excue. Their number wa more than eighty
Reference: (80)
. The Prophet, peace be upon him, accepted their excue and ought forgivene for them, entruting their inner elve to Allah.

Then I came to the Prophet, peace be upon him. He aked, "Why did you tay behind?"

I aid: O Meenger of Allah! If I were in front of anyone ele, I would urely avoid their dipleaure becaue I have been given eloquence and articulation through which I can make my point accepted. But by Allah! I am certain that even if I lie to pleae you, Allah will inform you of the truth and you will become angry with me. And if I tell you the truth, you might become angry with me, but I hope that Allah will bring about a good outcome from it.

By Allah! I had no excue, rather at the time of thi battle, I wa more properou and powerful than ever before.

The Meenger of Allah, peace be upon him, aid: (( أَمَّا ہَذَا فَقَدْ صَدَقَ ، فَقُمْ حَتّٰی یَقْضِیَ اللّٰہُ فِیْكَ ))

"A for thi peron, he ha poken the truth. Therefore, you may leave until Allah make a deciion regarding you."

After that, I left. People colded me, aying that if I had alo given an excue like the hypocrite, urely the Prophet ﷺ would have ought forgivene for me a well. I aked if there wa anyone ele whoe ituation wa like mine. They aid: Ye, there are two other who were given the ame repone a you, and they are: Mararah bin Rabi'ah رضي الله عنه and Hilal bin Umayyah رضي الله عنه. o, I left.

The Meenger of Allah ﷺ forbade the people from talking to the three of u. Conequently, they ditanced themelve from u and howed uch coldne that I felt a if thi earth wa not the ame a the one I had known before.

Both of my companion went back to their home and pent their day and night crying. A for me, I wa younger than them and poeed trong nerve. I would go out of the houe, perform prayer in the moque, wander in the market, but no one would talk to me. I would alo come before the Meenger of Allah and greet him, and in my heart, I would wonder whether had even moved hi lip or not. I would pray cloe to , and when I remained fully focued on the prayer, would keep looking at me, but when I looked toward him, he would avert hi gaze.

Thi equence continued in the ame manner. I had become weary of people' indifference. Meanwhile, I received a letter from the King of Ghaan in which it wa written that we have learned that your companion ha betrayed you, although you are not omeone who hould be dicarded in thi way. Therefore, come to u; we will upport you and ympathize with you. I burned that letter and aid in my heart that thi i another tet.

After forty day had paed, we received the order from the Meenger of Allah, peace be upon him, that we hould alo eparate from our wive. Accordingly, I ent my wife to her family.

Thu, fifty night paed. After the fifty-firt night had paed, I performed the Fajr prayer on the roof of my houe. My condition wa a Allah Almighty ha mentioned:

﴿ضَاقَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلْأَرْضُ بِمَا رَحُبَتْ وَضَاقَتْ عَلَيْهِمْ أَنفُسُهُمْ وَظَنُّوٓا۟ أَن لَّا مَلْجَأَ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَّآ إِلَيْهِ﴾

"The earth, depite it vatne, became narrow for them, and their own live alo became contrained, and they were certain that there wa no refuge for them except with Allah."

Indeed, my oul wa alo contrained within me, and the earth, depite being vat, wa narrow. At that moment, I heard the voice of omeone houting loudly from atop Jabal ila’: (( یَا کَعْبَ بْنَ مَالِک،أَبْشِرْ )) "O Ka’b bin Malik! You have good new."

Hearing thi, I fell into protration and realized that the difficulty had now been removed.

When the Meenger of Allah, peace be upon him, informed the people about the acceptance of our repentance, they all et out to bring u the good new. A man rode wiftly on hi hore toward me, but the voice of the one who had announced the good new loudly from the mountain proved to be fater than the hore.

When I et out toward the Meenger of Allah, peace be upon him, people met me in group and congratulated me, aying: Allah Almighty ha accepted your repentance, congratulation to you.

I preented myelf before the Meenger of Allah, peace be upon him, who wa preent in the moque. I greeted him. At that time, hi radiant face wa hining with happine and wa a bright a a piece of the moon.

He aid: (( أَبْشِرْ بِخَیْرِ یَوْمٍ مَرَّ عَلَیْكَ مُنْذُ وَلَدَتْكَ أُمُّكَ ))

"ince your mother gave birth to you, today i the bet day for you, o be glad of thi good new."

I at down before him, peace be upon him. I aid: O Meenger of Allah! Thanking for the acceptance of my repentance, I donate all my wealth for Allah and Hi Meenger, peace be upon him.

He, peace be upon him, aid: (( أَمْسِك عَلَیْكَ بَعْضَ مَالِكَ فَہُوَ خَیْرٌ لَّكَ ))

"Keep ome wealth with you; it i better for you."

I aid: The portion that I receive from Khyber, I will keep it with me.

After that, I aid: (( یَا رَسُولَ اللّٰہِ !

"O Meenger of Allah! Allah ha aved me becaue of my truthfulne, o a a gratitude for the acceptance of my repentance, I will not lie a long a I live."

By Allah! I do not know that Allah ha betowed uch a favor on anyone by granting the ability to peak the truth a He ha done for me.

"By Allah! ince the time I aid thi to the Meenger of Allah (peace be upon him), I have never deliberately told a lie. And I hope that Allah will protect me from it for the ret of my life a well."

Thi long tory prove that Allah ave thoe who peak the truth from Hi punihment and accept their repentance.

Promie of Forgivene and Great Reward

Allah Almighty ha promied forgivene and great reward to truthful men and truthful women.

The command of the Almighty i: ﴿إِنَّ ٱلْمُسْلِمِينَ وَٱلْمُسْلِمَٰتِ وَٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَٱلْمُؤْمِنَٰتِ وَٱلْقَٰنِتِينَ وَٱلْقَٰنِتَٰتِ وَٱلصَّٰدِقِينَ وَٱلصَّٰدِقَٰتِ وَٱلصَّٰبِرِينَ وَٱلصَّٰبِرَٰتِ وَٱلْخَٰشِعِينَ وَٱلْخَٰشِعَٰتِ وَٱلْمُتَصَدِّقِينَ وَٱلْمُتَصَدِّقَٰتِ وَٱلصَّٰٓئِمِينَ وَٱلصَّٰٓئِمَٰتِ وَٱلْحَٰفِظِينَ فُرُوجَهُمْ وَٱلْحَٰفِظَٰتِ وَٱلذَّٰكِرِينَ ٱللَّهَ كَثِيرًا وَٱلذَّٰكِرَٰتِ أَعَدَّ ٱللَّهُ لَهُم مَّغْفِرَةً وَأَجْرًا عَظِيمًا﴾

"Indeed, Mulim men and Mulim women, believing men and believing women, obedient men and obedient women, truthful men and truthful women, patient men and patient women, humble men and humble women, charitable men and charitable women, fating men and fating women, men who guard their private part and women who guard, and men who remember Allah much and women who remember— for all of them, Allah ha prepared forgivene and a great reward."

And not only ha He promied forgivene and great reward, but He ha alo given glad tiding of Paradie to the truthful. The command of the Almighty i: ﴿قَالَ ٱللَّهُ هَٰذَا يَوْمُ يَنفَعُ ٱلصَّٰدِقِينَ صِدْقُهُمْ ۚ لَهُمْ جَنَّٰتٌ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَآ أَبَدًا ۚ رَّضِىَ ٱللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ وَرَضُوا۟ عَنْهُ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلْفَوْزُ ٱلْعَظِيمُ ﴾

"Allah will ay: Today i the day when the truthfulne of the truthful will benefit them. For them are garden beneath which river flow, wherein they will abide forever. Allah i pleaed with them, and they are pleaed with Him. That i the great ucce."

peaking the truth i a characteritic of the piou

The command of the Exalted Allah i:

﴿وَٱلَّذِى جَآءَ بِٱلصِّدْقِ وَصَدَّقَ بِهِۦٓ ۙ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْمُتَّقُونَ ‎﴿٣٣﴾‏ لَهُم مَّا يَشَآءُونَ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ جَزَآءُ ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ ﴾

"And thoe who bring the truth and thoe who confirm it - thoe are the righteou. For them i whatever they deire with their Lord. That i the reward of the doer of good."

From thi noble vere, it i etablihed that peaking the truth i an eential requirement of piety and an indipenable attribute of the piou.

Truthfulne guide toward righteoune

The noble aying of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) i: (( عَلَیْکُمْ بِالصِّدْقِ فَإِنَّ الصِّدْقَ یَہْدِیْ إِلَی الْبِرِّ وَإِنَّ الْبِرَّ یَہْدِیْ إِلَی الْجَنَّةِ،وَمَا یَزَالُ الرَّجُلُ یَصْدُقُ وَیَتَحَرَّی الصِّدْقَ حَتّٰی یُکْتَبَ عِنْدَ اللّٰہِ صِدِّیْقًا،وَإِیَّاکُمْ وَالْکَذِبَ فَإِنَّ الْکَذِبَ یَہْدِیْ إِلَی الْفُجُوْرِ وَإِنَّ الْفُجُوْرَ یَہْدِیْ إِلَی النَّارِ،وَمَا یَزَالُ الرَّجُلُ یَکْذِبُ وَیَتَحَرَّی الْکَذِبَ حَتّٰی یُکْتَبَ عِنْدَ اللّٰہِ کَذَّابًا ))

’’ Alway peak the truth becaue the truth guide toward righteoune, and righteoune how the way to Paradie. A peron who alway peak the truth and eek only the truth i recorded by Allah Almighty a a very truthful peron. And avoid lying becaue lying lead to in, and in lead to Hell. A peron who alway lie and eek only falehood i recorded by Allah Almighty a a great liar.‘‘

Truthfulne in the Moral of the Prophet, Peace Be Upon Them

All the Prophet, peace be upon them, alway poke the truth, and truthfulne wa an eential part of their noble character. Allah Almighty ha mentioned thi attribute of variou Prophet, peace be upon them, a follow:

◄ Yuuf, peace be upon him: ﴿أَنَا۠ رَٰوَدتُّهُۥ عَن نَّفْسِهِۦ وَإِنَّهُۥ لَمِنَ ٱلصَّٰدِقِينَ﴾
◄ Ibrahim, peace be upon him: ﴿ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ صِدِّيقًا نَّبِيًّا﴾
◄ imilarly, about Idri, peace be upon him, it i aid: ﴿ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ صِدِّيقًا نَّبِيًّا﴾
◄ Ihaq and Yaqub, peace be upon them: ﴿وَجَعَلْنَا لَهُمْ لِسَانَ صِدْقٍ عَلِيًّا﴾
◄ Imail, peace be upon him: ﴿إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ صَادِقَ ٱلْوَعْدِ ﴾

And a far a Imam al-Anbiya Hazrat Muhammad ﷺ i concerned, even before receiving prophethood, he wa famou by the title "A-adiq Al-Amin" and beide hi own people, other alo tetified about him that (( مَا جَرَّبْنَا عَلَیْكَ إِلَّا صِدْقًا )) "We have alway found you peaking the truth."

And when Abu ufyan went to the King of Rome
Reference: (Heracliu)
, at that time he wa not a Mulim; he accepted Ilam much later. Heracliu aked him many quetion about the Holy Prophet ﷺ. One of the quetion wa: What command doe he give you? Abu ufyan aid:

"He ay: Worhip Allah alone, do not aociate anyone with Him, and abandon what your forefather ued to ay. Beide thi, he command u to pray, peak the truth, remain chate, and maintain tie of kinhip."

Hearing thi, every tribe aid: If what you are aying i true, then he
Reference: (the Holy Prophet, peace be upon him)
will oon become the owner of my throne.

Thoe who were your mortal enemie gave thi tetimony about your truthfulne
Reference: (truthful)
and your command to peak the truth. And the truth i that which even the enemy acknowledge.

And when the firt revelation wa ent down upon the Meenger of Allah, peace be upon him, and you returned home in a tate of great ditre, Umm al-Mu'minin Hazrat Khadijah, may Allah be pleaed with her, comforted you by aying:

"By Allah! Allah will never digrace you. By Allah! You maintain kinhip tie, peak the truth, bear burden, give to thoe who have nothing, how hopitality, and help other in time of hardhip and pain."

That i, in view of your noble character, Allah Almighty will never digrace you.

Thi prove that, like other noble Prophet (peace be upon them), Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) wa alo truthful, and truthfulne wa an eential part of your (peace be upon him) excellent character. How could it be otherwie when Allah Almighty ha declared you (peace be upon him) to be endowed with the highet rank of good character: ﴿وَإِنَّكَ لَعَلَىٰ خُلُقٍ عَظِيمٍ﴾

Therefore, we too hould alway peak the truth and keep our tongue free from lie by following the example of the noble Prophet (peace be upon them).

One hould alway peak the truth in general converation

The Noble Prophet (peace be upon him) aid: (( اِضْمَنُوْا لِیْ سِتًّا مِنْ أَنْفُسِکُمْ أَضْمَنْ لَکُمُ الْجَنَّةَ: اُصْدُقُوْا إِذَا حَدَّثْتُمْ،وَأَوْفُوْا إِذَا وَعَدْتُّمْ،وَأَدُّوْا إِذَا اؤْتُمِنْتُمْ،وَاحْفَظُوْا فُرُوْجَکُمْ،وَغُضُّوْا أَبْصَارَکُمْ،وَکُفُّوْا أَیْدِیَکُمْ ))

"Give me a guarantee of ix thing from your ide, and I will guarantee you Paradie. When you peak, peak the truth; when you make a promie, fulfill it; when you are entruted with a trut, deliver it; guard your private part; lower your gaze; and retrain your hand."

The firt of the ix mentioned matter that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) tated i: to peak the truth in general converation. Therefore, every Mulim who deire to enter Paradie hould alway peak the truth and avoid lying under all circumtance. Otherwie, he hould remember that the Meenger of Allah (peace be upon him) aid regarding lying in general converation that it i one of the ign of a hypocrite.

It i narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleaed with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace be upon him) aid:

(( آیَةُ الْمُنَافِقِ ثَلَاثٌ:إِذَا حَدَّثَ کَذَبَ،وَإِذَا وَعَدَ أَخْلَفَ،وَإِذَا ائْتُمِنَ خَانَ ))

"The ign of a hypocrite are three: when he peak, he lie; when he make a promie, he break it; and when he i entruted, he betray the trut."

And in another narration, he aid: (( أَرْبَعٌ مَنْ کُنَّ فِیْہِ کَانَ مُنَافِقًا خَالِصًا،وَمَنْ کَانَتْ فِیْہِ خَصْلَةٌ مِنْہُنَّ کَانَتْ فِیْہِ خَصْلَةٌ مِنَ النِّفَاقِ حَتّٰی یَدَعَہَا : إِذَا ائْتُمِنَ خَانَ،وَإِذَا حَدَّثَ کَذَبَ،وإِذَا عَاہَدَ غَدَرَ،وَإِذَا خَاصَمَ فَجَرَ))

"Four qualitie, if found in a peron, make him a complete hypocrite, and if even one of thee qualitie i found in a peron, it i a ign of hypocriy until he abandon it. The firt i that when he i entruted with a trut, he betray it. The econd i that when he peak, he lie. The third i that when he make a promie, he break it. And the fourth i that when he quarrel, he reort to abuive language."

From thee two bleed hadith, it i etablihed that lying i one of the trait of a hypocrite. Therefore, it i not befitting for a believer, nor doe it uit him, to lie in hi peech.

Oath hould alo be taken truthfully

The Noble Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) aid: (( لَا تَحْلِفُوْا بِآبَائِکُمْ وَلَا بِأُمَّہَاتِکُمْ وَلَا بِالْأنْدَادِ،وَلَا تَحْلِفُوْا إِلَّا بِاللّٰہِ،وَلَا تَحْلِفُوْا بِاللّٰہِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ إِلَّا وَأَنْتُمْ صَادِقُوْنَ ))

"Do not wear by your father, mother, or partner; wear only by Allah, and wear by Allah only when you are truthful."

Thi prove that a Mulim hould only take a truthful oath and mut avoid taking fale oath. Wherea today, the condition of Mulim i uch that they boldly take fale oath and eize the wealth of their brother.

Tetimony hould alo be truthful

imilarly, a Mulim hould only give truthful tetimony and avoid giving fale tetimony becaue giving fale tetimony i among the major in.

It i narrated from Hazrat Abu Bakrah (may Allah be pleaed with him) that the Meenger of Allah (peace be upon him) aid:

(( أَلا أُنَبِّئُکُمْ بِأَکْبَرِ الْکَبَائِرِ ؟))

"hall I not tell you about the greatet of in?"

The Prophet (peace be upon him) aked thi quetion three time. We aid: Why not, O Meenger of Allah!

The Prophet (peace be upon him) aid:

(( اَلْإِشْرَاكَ بِاللّٰہِ وَعُقُوْقُ الْوَالِدَیْنِ ))

"Aociating partner with Allah and diobedience to parent."

The Prophet (peace be upon him) wa leaning on omething. Then he traightened up and at upright and aid: (( أَلَا وَقَوْلَ الزُّوْرِ وَشَہَادَۃَ الزُّوْرِ،أَلَا وَقَوْلَ الزُّوْرِ وَشَہَادَۃَ الزُّوْر،أَلَا وَقَوْلَ الزُّوْرِ وَشَہَادَۃَ الزُّوْر ))

"Beware! Avoid fale peech and fale tetimony. Beware! Avoid fale peech and fale tetimony. Beware! Avoid fale peech and fale tetimony."

Then the Prophet ﷺ repeatedly repeated thee word until I
Reference: (in my heart)
thought that I wih you would remain ilent.

Wherea today, many Mulim do not feel any hame in giving fale tetimony; for a few rupee, anyone can take tetimony from them a they wih. Then deciion are made baed on that tetimony!

The belief in Tawheed mut alo be true

Hazrat Ana bin Malik (RA) narrate that once the Meenger of Allah ﷺ wa riding a mount and Hazrat Muadh bin Jabal (RA) wa itting behind him. The Prophet ﷺ called him three time. Each time he replied, "O Meenger of Allah! I am preent." Then the Prophet ﷺ aid:

(( مَا مِنْ أَحَدٍ یَشْہَدُ أَن لَّا إِلٰہَ إِلَّا اللّٰہُ وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُوْلُ اللّٰہِ صَادِقًا مِّنْ قَلْبِه إِلَّا حَرَّمَہُ اللّٰہُ عَلَی النَّارِ))

’’When a peron incerely tetifie that Allah Almighty i the only true God and that Prophet Muhammad ﷺ i the Meenger of Allah, then Allah Almighty forbid Hellfire for him.’’

From thi bleed hadith, it i proven that a Mulim mut be incere in hi belief. And thi mean that he hould accept the Onene of Allah Almighty from the heart. In uch a way that he dedicate every form of worhip excluively to Allah Almighty and doe not aociate anyone ele with Him. Becaue incerely tetifying لا إلہ إلا اللہ mean that

❀ He hould conider Allah Almighty a the only true God.
❀ He hould protrate only before Him, conider Him the fulfiller of need, and place all hope in Him alone becaue He i the one who give everything.
❀ He hould fear only Him becaue no harm can come without Hi command.
❀ He hould call upon only Allah becaue without Him there i no helper, avior, or remover of difficultie.
❀ He hould ak only from Allah Almighty becaue He i the owner of all treaure. He hould quetion only Him becaue all power are with Him and Hi command run over the entire univere.
❀ He hould have uch devotion and love for Allah Almighty that i baed on Hi reverence and anctification.

Who i a True Mulim?

It i with regret that one mut ay that today many Mulim remain Mulim in name only; true Mulim who incerely obey Allah Almighty with a truthful heart are very few. Who i a true Mulim? Liten to a hadith:

Hazrat Talha bin Ubaidullah (RA) narrate that a man from the people of Najd came to the preence of the Meenger of Allah (ﷺ) whoe hair wa diheveled. Hi voice wa audible, but we could not undertand what he wa aying until he came cloer. He aked the Meenger of Allah (ﷺ) about Ilam, and he aid: "Five prayer during the day and night." He aked: "I there any other prayer obligatory upon me beide thee five?" The Prophet (ﷺ) aid: "No, except that you alo perform voluntary (Nafl) prayer." The Prophet (ﷺ) then aid: "And the fat of Ramadan." He aked: "I there any other fat obligatory upon me beide thee?" The Prophet (ﷺ) aid: "No, except that you alo oberve voluntary fat." Then the Prophet (ﷺ) informed him about Zakat a well. He aked: "I there anything ele that I am obliged to pend beide thi?" The Prophet (ﷺ) aid: "No, except that you alo give voluntary charity (adaqah)."

Then the man turned hi back and wa leaving, aying: "By Allah! I will do neither more nor le than thi."

o the Prophet ﷺ aid: (( أَفْلَحَ إِنْ صَدَقَ))

"If he ha poken the truth, then he ha ucceeded."

Or the Prophet ﷺ aid: (( دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ إِنْ صَدَقَ ))

"If he ha poken the truth, then he ha entered Paradie."

From thi hadith, it i proven that a true Mulim i one who at leat perform the obligation of Ilam uch a prayer, fating, Hajj, and Zakat with conitency and doe not how negligence or carelene in them. Thi peron aid that he would neither decreae nor increae in thee dutie and would alway remain teadfat in them. The Meenger of Allah ﷺ gave him the glad tiding of ucce and Paradie on the condition that he truly continue to do o and incerely put hi word into practice. Indeed, he will ucceed and reach Paradie.

Truthfulne in Trade and Buine

A Mulim hould alo be truthful in buine and trade and hould not ue lie in buying and elling buine good.

Hazrat Rifa'ah رضي الله عنه tate that the Prophet Muhammad صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم aw ome people engaged in buine and aid: (( یَا مَعْشَرَ التُّجَّارِ!)) "O group of merchant!"

The people then raied their head and turned toward the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم, ready to liten carefully to hi word. Then he aid: (( إِنَّ التُّجَّارَ یُبْعَثُونَ یَوْمَ الْقِیَامَةِ فُجَّارًا إِلَّا مَنِ اتَّقَی اللّٰہَ وَبَرَّ وَصَدَقَ ))

"Indeed, merchant will be raied on the Day of Reurrection a inner except thoe who feared Allah, did good deed, and poke the truth."

The benefit of peaking the truth in buine and tranaction i that it bring bleing, wherea lying remove it bleing.

The honorable aying of the Meenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم i:

(( اَلْبَیِّعَانِ بِالْخِیَارِ مَا لَمْ یَتَفَرَّقَا،فَإِنْ صَدَقَا وَبَیَّنَا بُوْرِكَ لَہُمَا فِیْ بَیْعِہِمَا، وَإِنْ کَذَبَا وَکَتَمَا مُحِقَتْ بَرَکَةُ بَیْعِہِمَا ))

"The buyer and the eller have the option to finalize the deal or cancel it until they part way. If both of them peak the truth and dicloe everything openly, their tranaction will be bleed. But if they lie and conceal any matter, the bleing in their tranaction will be lot."

Taking a fale oath to ell one' property i a great in.

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) aid: (( ثَلَاثَةٌ لَا یُکَلِّمُہُمُ اللّٰہُ یَوْمَ الْقِیَامَةِ وَلَا یَنْظُرُ إِلَیْہِمْ وَلَا یُزَکِّیْہِمْ وَلَہُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِیْمٌ…

"Allah will neither peak to, look at, nor purify three type of people on the Day of Judgment, and for them there will be a painful punihment: one who let hi garment hang below the ankle, one who how off hi favor by reminding other whenever he give omething, and one who take a fale oath to ell hi good."

In light of all thee ahadith, it i obligatory upon a Mulim to peak the truth and avoid lying in matter of trade and tranaction.

Dear repected one! The ummary of the entire ermon i that every Mulim i commanded to peak the truth and remain among the truthful, becaue there are great bleing in peaking the truth and the harm of lying are very dreadful. Therefore, every Mulim hould adopt thi trait and alway peak the truth in their general converation a well. If aked for tetimony, they hould give truthful tetimony; if they wear an oath, they hould wear truthfully; they hould alo adopt truthfulne in belief and action, a well a in buying and elling tranaction. May Allah grant u all the ability to do o.

econd ermon

Brother in Ilam! Lying i one of the major in, and beide the form mentioned in the firt ermon, there are ome other form of it a well.

01. Lying about Allah Almighty or Hi Meenger ﷺ i a very great in

Allah Almighty ay:

"Do not ay that thi thing i halal and that thing i haram baed on lie that come to your tongue, and thu you begin to lie againt Allah. Thoe who lie againt Allah never proper.

little benefit but
Reference: (in the Hereafter)
there i a grievou punihment for them."

And the noble aying of the Meenger of Allah, peace be upon him, i:

(( مَنْ کَذَبَ عَلَیَّ مُتَعَمِّدًا فَلْیَتَبَوَّأْ مَقْعَدَہُ مِنَ النَّارِ ))

"Whoever deliberately lie againt me, let him take hi place in Hell."

02. Lying in jet i alo forbidden

ome people think that making fale tatement or lying in jet i permiible, wherea lying i lying in any cae, and it in in jet i a much a lying eriouly.

The noble aying of the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, i:

(( وَیْلٌ لِلَّذِیْ یُحَدِّثُ بِالْحَدِیْثِ لِیُضْحِكَ بِہِ الْقَوْمَ فَیَکْذِبُ،وَیْلٌ لَہُ، وَیْلٌ لَہُ ))

"Detruction i for the peron who tell people a lie o that they may laugh; detruction i for him, detruction i for him."

And the peron who refrain from lying even in jet, the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ guarantee a houe for him in the middle level of Paradie.

The noble aying of the Meenger of Allah ﷺ i:

"I guarantee a houe in the lowet level of Paradie for the one who avoid dipute depite being right. And I guarantee a houe in the middle level of Paradie for the one who abandon lying, even if he i joking. And I guarantee a houe in the highet level of Paradie for the one who ha good character."

03. Celebrating April Fool' Day i a cutom of the dibeliever

ome people celebrate April 1t a "April Fool," meaning they lie happily and mirepreent the truth merely a a cutom. ome lie to trouble omeone, ome to urprie omeone, and ome lie jut for fun. Later, they admit that they were jut celebrating "April Fool."

However, if they knew that by thi act they are imitating the dibeliever and giving them an opportunity to mock them, they would certainly avoid it. Becaue it i aid about "April Fool" that it i actually a celebration by the dibeliever marking the end of the eight hundred year of Mulim rule in Andaluia. The background i that when the Chritian ent their pie to Andaluia to find out the real ecret of the Mulim' trength, they dicovered that trict adherence to Allah' command and avoidance of evil wa their true power. Conequently, they gradually introduced thing like alcohol and cigarette into Andaluia, and by uing thee, Mulim began committing in and their faith became very weak. Eventually, the Mulim rule declined, and their lat trong fortre

wa alo defeated on the firt of April. Thi wa actually a great deception that the dibeliever played on the Mulim. They did not realize thi when the dibeliever introduced their impure culture and filthy value among them. And when their rule ended, they realized that they had been deceived. That i why the dibeliever celebrate thi day a "April Fool," and the mot regrettable thing i that Mulim alo participate with them. It i a if they are laughing at themelve over their wort defeat.

And ome people celebrate "April Fool" by telling a lie that pread far and wide, wherea uch a peron will be everely punihed in the grave.

Hazrat amurah bin Jundub (RA) ay that when the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) finihed the prayer, he would turn toward u and ak: "Who among you ha een a dream tonight?" If omeone had een a dream, he would narrate it, and the Prophet (PBUH) would interpret it. Then one day came, and the Prophet (PBUH) aked the ame quetion a uual, and we replied: No, we have not een any dream. Then he aid:

"But I have een a dream tonight, and it i thi: two men came to me, they..."

He took my hand and brought me to the Holy Land. There I aw a peron itting, and a man tanding beide him holding a pur in hi hand. He would inert it into one of hi thigh
Reference: (then pull it)
and drag it back to hi buttock, then do the ame with the other thigh, pulling it back to the buttock. Thu, both hi thigh would meet near hi buttock, then hi thigh would return to their original poition, and he would repeat thi with him a before. I aked: What i thi? Both of them aid: Move forward. o we moved forward... Then both of them explained that the peron whoe thigh were being pierced wa

"Thi i the one who leave the houe in the morning and then tell lie that pread far and wide. He will be given thi punihment until the Day of Judgment..."

In light of thi hadith, thoe who imitate dibeliever by celebrating "April Fool" and lie or mirepreent on thi occaion hould repent immediately.

04. Lying to Children

ome people lie to their children, even though the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) warned againt thi.

Hazrat Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleaed with him) narrate that one day the Meenger of Allah (peace be upon him) wa preent in our houe. During thi time, my mother called me and aid: I will give you omething. The Meenger of Allah (peace be upon him) aked: What were you intending to give him? he aid: I intended to give him a date.

He (peace be upon him) aid: (( أَمَا إِنَّكَ لَوْ لَمْ تُعْطِیْہِ شَیْئًا کُتِبَتْ عَلَیْكَ کِذْبَةٌ ))

"Beware! If you do not give him anything, then a lie will be recorded againt you."

Lying to children i very eriou in another repect, becaue in thi way their upbringing i baed on falehood. And when they learn to lie from their parent in childhood, they lie when they grow up. The in of thi lie not only on them but alo on their parent, becaue the Meenger of Allah, peace be upon him, aid (( مَنْ سَنَّ فِی الْإِسْلَامِ سُنَّةًسَیِّئَةٌ فَعَلَیْہِ وِزْرُہَا وَوِزْرُ مَنْ عَمِلَ بِہَا مِنْ بَعْدِہِ مِنْ غَیْرِ أَن یَّنْقُصَ مِنْ أَوْزَارِہِمْ شَیْئٌ ))

"Whoever adopt a bad practice in Ilam, the in of it i upon him and alo upon thoe who follow it afterward, without any reduction in their in."

05. Permiible Lie

There are three occaion where lying i permiible, and the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, tated it a follow:

(( لَا یَحِلُّ الْکَذِبُ إِلَّا فِیْ ثَلاَثٍ : یُحَدِّثُ الرَّجُلُ امْرَأَتَہُ لِیُرْضِیَہَا، وَالْکَذِبُ فِی الْحَرْبِ،وَالْکَذِبُ لِیُصْلِحَ بَیْنَ النَّاسِ ))

"Lying i only permiible in three cae: lying to pleae one' wife, lying in war, and lying to reconcile between people."

In the end, we pray to Allah Almighty that He alway grant u the ability to peak the truth and protect u from lying.
