Chapter: The Excellence of Gentleness

Narration of Jarir bin Abdullah:
Jarir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say:
"Whoever is deprived of gentleness, he is deprived of goodness."
[Sahih: Narrated by Muslim 2592: 7475]

Narration of Aisha:
Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated that the Prophet ﷺ said:
"Indeed, gentleness is not found in anything except that it adorns it, and it is not removed from anything except that it disgraces it."
[Sahih: Narrated by Muslim 2594: 78]

Narration of Aisha:
Umm al-Mu'minin Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
"O Aisha! Indeed, Allah is gentle and loves gentleness. He grants for gentleness what He does not grant for harshness, and what He does not grant for anything else."
[Sahih: Narrated by Muslim 2593]

Narration of Aisha:
Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to her:
"O Aisha! Be gentle, for when Allah intends good for the people of a household, He grants them the quality of gentleness."
[Hasan: Narrated by Ahmad 24734]

Narration of Jabir bin Abdullah:
Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated that the Prophet ﷺ said:
"When Allah intends good for a people, He brings gentleness among them."
[Hasan: Narrated by Al-Bazzar, Kashf al-Astar 1965]

Narration of Aisha:
Umm al-Mu'minin Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated from the Prophet ﷺ that he said:
"Indeed, Allah is gentle and loves gentleness in all matters."
[Sahih: Narrated by Ibn Majah 368, Ahmad 24553]

Narration of Anas bin Malik:
Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
"Indeed, Allah is gentle, He loves gentleness and gives for it what He does not give for harshness."
[Hasan: Narrated by Al-Bazzar 7114, Al-Tabarani in Al-Saghir 221, Al-Bayhaqi in Shu’ab al-Iman 10554]

Narration of Abu Hurairah:
Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet ﷺ said:
"Indeed, Allah is gentle, He loves gentleness and gives for it what He does not give for harshness."
[Hasan: Narrated by Ibn Majah 3688, Al-Bazzar in his Musnad 9253, and authenticated by Ibn Hibban 549]

Narration of Ali bin Abi Talib:
Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
"Indeed, Allah is gentle, He loves gentleness and gives for it what He does not give for harshness."
[Hasan: Narrated by Ahmad 902, Abu Ya’la 490]

Narration of Khalid bin Ma’dan:
Khalid bin Ma’dan narrated from his father that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
"Indeed, Allah is gentle, He loves gentleness and grants help through it which He does not grant through harshness."
[Hasan: Narrated by Abdur-Razzaq in his Musannaf 9251]
