The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “For the righteous and faithful slave, there is a double reward. By the One in Whose hand is the soul of Abu Hurairah, were it not for jihad in the path of Allah, Hajj, and my dutiful service to my mother, I would have loved to die while I was still a slave.” It is mentioned that Abu Hurairah did not perform Hajj until after his mother passed away, due to his service to her.

Then Ash-Sha’bi said: “I have given you this hadith without effort. In the past, people would travel to Madinah for even less than this hadith.”
