The Seriousness and Acceptance of the Supplication of the Oppressed
Written by: Imran Ayyub Lahori
➊ Narration of Ibn ʿAbbās (RA):
When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent Muʿādh (RA) to Yemen, he advised him:
"Beware of the supplication of the oppressed, for indeed there is no barrier between it and Allah."
References: [Bukhārī: 1496, Kitāb al-Zakāh; Muslim: 19; Abū Dāwūd: 1584; Nasāʾī: 2/5; Tirmidhī: 625]
➋ Narration of Abū Hurayrah (RA):
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
"Three supplications are not rejected: the supplication of the fasting person until he breaks his fast, the supplication of the just ruler, and the supplication of the oppressed. Allah raises it above the clouds and opens the gates of the heavens for it, and the Lord says: ‘By My honor! I will surely help you, even if after some time.’"

➌ Another narration states:
"Three supplications are without doubt answered: the supplication of the oppressed, the supplication of the traveler, and the supplication of a parent for his child."
