Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh
May Allah grant you a long life. Ameen. Dear Hafiz Sahib, I am sending some narrations for which I need research.
Narration No. 1
The Prophet (PBUH) was stung by a scorpion during prayer. After finishing the prayer, he asked for water and salt, which he applied to the sting while reciting Surah Al-Kafiroon, Surah Al-Ikhlas, and Surah An-Naas. [Majma' al-Zawa'id, 5/111, and Al-Haythami said: Its chain is good]
Narration No. 2
The incident of Tufail bin Amr al-Dawsi (RA) where people told him not to listen to the Quran from the Prophet (PBUH), so he put cotton in his ears. However, he heard the Prophet (PBUH) reciting the Quran near the Kaaba, removed the cotton, and began listening. Being a poet himself, he realized it was not the speech of any poet and thus accepted Islam.
Many Ahl-e-Hadith speakers narrate this story. Please clarify its authenticity in the scholarly field.
Narration No. 3
It is narrated that a woman used to throw garbage on the Prophet (PBUH). One day, when she did not do so, the Prophet (PBUH) went to her house, cleaned it, and filled water for her. Seeing his noble character, she converted to Islam. [Reference: Educational Curriculum Books]
Research is required on this incident to determine whether it is authenticated by any Sahih Hadith, a mere oral story, or a reference from the government curriculum.
Narration No. 4
It is narrated that a woman came to Mecca for shopping and was told not to listen to a certain man, as he was a magician and a poet. She left Mecca and sat outside with her bundle. The Prophet (PBUH) passed by and asked her destination. Upon hearing it, he carried her bundle and delivered it to her destination. She remarked that he seemed like a good person and advised him to avoid the magician who claims to be a prophet. The Prophet (PBUH) then revealed his identity. She said that he could not be a liar and accepted Islam. Hafiz Sahib, the authenticity of these four narrations is required. May Allah reward you. Wasalam, Khurram Irshad Muhammadi.

The Incident of the Scorpion Sting During Prayer
This narration is mentioned in Majma' al-Zawa'id with reference to "al-Tabarani in al-Saghir." [5/111]
In al-Mu'jam al-Saghir by al-Tabarani, the chain of narration is as follows:“حدثنا محمد بن الحسين الأشناني الكوفي : حدثنا عباد بن يعقوب الأسدي : حدثنا محمد بن فضيل عن مطرف عن المنهال بن عمرو عن محمد بن الحنفية عن علي كرم الله وجهه في الجنة...” [2/23, Hadith No. 850]
Research on Narrators:
Abad bin Ya'qub al-Rawajini:
- Ibn Hibban: "He was a Rafidhi, calling towards Rafidhism, and narrated obscure things from famous people, hence he deserved to be abandoned." [al-Majruhin, 2/172]
- Abu Bakr Ibn Abi Shaybah or Hannad bin al-Sari criticized him. See: [al-Kamil by Ibn 'Adi, 4/1653]
- Ibn 'Adi: "He had excessiveness in Shiism and narrated strange things in the virtues of Ahl al-Bayt and in criticizing others." [al-Kamil, 4/1653]
- Ibn al-Jawzi mentioned him in his book on weak and abandoned narrators. [2/77, No. 1788]
- Abu Hatim al-Razi: "Kufi Sheikh" [al-Jarh wa al-Ta'dil, 2/88]
- Abu Zura' al-Razi included him among the weak narrators. [2/566]
Noteworthy Points:
- Imam al-Daraqutni: "Shi'i but truthful." [Sualat al-Hakim, 425]
- Ibn Khuzaymah: "He is accused in his opinion but trustworthy in his hadith." [Sahih Ibn Khuzaymah, 2/376-377, Hadith No. 1497]
- Al-Hakim: He authenticated his hadith. [al-Mustadrak, 2/492, Hadith No. 3820; 3/154, Hadith No. 4731]
- Al-Diya' al-Maqdisi included his hadith in al-Mukhtarah. [al-Mukhtarah, 2/183, Hadith No. 562]
- Ibn Hajar: "Truthful but extreme Shi'i, his hadith is recorded in Bukhari's supporting narrations." [Taqrib al-Tahdhib, 3153]
- Al-Busiri considered his hadith weak. [Majma' al-Zawa'id, 5/111]
Note 1
:A narration in Sunan Ibn Majah states: "When I die, wash me with seven water skins from my well, Bir Gharas." [Hadith No. 1468]Al-Busiri commented: "This chain is weak, due to Abad bin Ya'qub..." [See: Sahih Ibn Khuzaymah, 2/376-377, Hadith No. 1497]I previously declared this narration weak in "Tashil al-Hajah" [Manuscript, p. 100], but now retract this verdict, considering it Hasan.
Note 2:
Some claimed that Abad insulted Uthman (RA), but this is not substantiated by any authentic chain.Narration No. 2

This story is attributed to Tufail bin Amr al-Dawsi (RA) through the chain of Ibn Ishaq from Uthman bin al-Huwairith from Salih bin Kaysan and is mentioned in the following books:
- al-Isti'ab by Ibn 'Abd al-Barr [2/232]
- Siyar A'lam al-Nubala by al-Dhahabi [1/345]
Note:
This narration is found in only one manuscript of Kitab al-Maghazi by Ibn Ishaq. [See: al-Isabah by Ibn Hajar, 2/225]This chain is weak for three reasons:
- Ibn Ishaq is a known mudallis (one who omits the name of his teacher in the chain) and uses 'an (from) in the chain.
- Uthman bin al-Huwairith's reliability is unknown.
- Salih bin Kaysan is a Tabi'i (a successor), making this chain mursal (a chain missing the link between the Tabi'i and the Prophet).
- al-Sirah al-Nabawiyyah by Ibn Hisham [Arabic, 2/22]
- Dala'il al-Nubuwwah by al-Bayhaqi [5/360-363]
- Tarikh Dimashq by Ibn Asakir [27/9-10]
- al-Bidayah wa al-Nihayah [3/96-97]
- al-Sirah al-Nabawiyyah by Ibn Kathir [2/72-76]
- Tabaqat Ibn Sa'd [4/237-239]
- al-Isabah [2/225]
- Siyar A'lam al-Nubala [1/344-345]
This story is not authentic.
Narration No. 3
It is narrated that a woman used to throw garbage on the Prophet (PBUH). One day, when she did not do so, the Prophet (PBUH) went to her house, cleaned it, and filled water for her. Seeing his noble character, she converted to Islam. [Reference: Educational Curriculum Books]This is a completely baseless and fabricated story. To the best of our knowledge, it is not found with any chain in the books of Hadith.
Narration No. 4
