If a mother performs wudu and then cleans her child's private parts, does her wudu remain valid? And what is the meaning of the Hadith: "مَنْ مَسَّ ذَکَرَہ"?
✦ Cleaning a child's private parts does not invalidate the mother’s wudu.
The Hadith "مَنْ مَسَّ ذَکَرَہ" (Whoever touches his private part) refers specifically to a person touching his own private part, and not someone else’s.
"Whoever touches his private part should not perform prayer until he performs wudu."
(Sunan Abu Dawud, Sunan al-Nasa’i, Sunan Ibn Majah, Sunan al-Tirmidhi)
This Hadith applies to touching one’s own private parts. According to scholarly consensus, if a person touches his own private part directly (without a barrier), then his wudu becomes invalid. However, when a mother touches her child's private parts while cleaning them, this does not invalidate her wudu.
① A mother's wudu is not invalidated by cleaning her child's private parts.
② The Hadith "مَنْ مَسَّ ذَکَرَہ" applies to one’s own private parts, not those of another person.
