The Prophet ﷺ instructed that imams should be chosen from among the righteous and virtuous — not from fāsiq (open sinners) or immoral individuals.
An imam attempting to separate a wife from her husband through deception or seduction is committing a grave sin, and such behavior constitutes clear moral corruption.
Prophetic Saying (Hadith):
"Whoever incites a woman against her husband (to cause separation), he is not from among us."
Sunan Abī Dāwūd
Hence, someone who engages in such an action is not qualified to serve as an imam from a Sharʿī perspective.

If a mosque imam desires to marry a woman who is already married and attempts to lure her into divorcing her husband, does such a person remain qualified to lead prayers?❖ Answer
✘ If the incident is true, such a person is absolutely unfit to lead prayers.
