وَأَمَّا الدُّعَاءِ عَلٰي أَعْضَاءِ الْوُضُوءِ، فَلَمْ يَجِئْ فِيهِ شَيْءٌ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .
“As for the supplications recited for each limb during Wudu, nothing has been reported from the Prophet ﷺ regarding them.”

◈ Imām Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله (691–751 AH) declared this practice an innovation, saying:
وَأَمَّا الْأَذْكَارُ الَّتِيْ يَقُولُهَا الْعَامَّةُ عَلَي الْوُضُوءِ، عِنْدَ كُلِّ وَضُوءٍ، فَلَا أَصْلَ لَهَا، عَنْ رَّسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَلَا عَنْ أَحَدٍ مِّنَ الصَّحَابَةِ، وَالتَّابِعِينَ، وَلَا الْأَئِمَّةُ الْأَرْبَعَةِ، وَفِيهَا حَدِيثٌ كَذِبٌ عَلٰي رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .
“As for the supplications that common people recite during Wudu for each limb, there is no basis for them from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, nor from any of the Companions, the Tabi‘in, or the Four Imams. A fabricated Hadith has been falsely attributed to the Prophet ﷺ in this regard.”

❖ Question:
What is the Shar‘i (Islamic legal) ruling regarding those who recite separate supplications for each limb while performing Wudu?❖ Answer:
There is no authentic evidence to support the practice of reciting specific supplications for each limb during Wudu. Although some individuals have included such supplications in their books, they have done so without any proof. This practice constitutes an innovation (Bid‘ah) in the religion.❖ Scholarly Opinions:
◈ Ḥāfiẓ Nawawī رحمه الله (631–676 AH) stated:وَأَمَّا الدُّعَاءِ عَلٰي أَعْضَاءِ الْوُضُوءِ، فَلَمْ يَجِئْ فِيهِ شَيْءٌ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .
“As for the supplications recited for each limb during Wudu, nothing has been reported from the Prophet ﷺ regarding them.”
