Question:
What is the ruling on raising the hands in the duʿāʾ of Witr?
Answer:
Raising the hands in the duʿāʾ of Witr is legislated (mashrūʿ) because this duʿāʾ is of the same nature as the qunūt al-nāzilah (supplication during times of calamity). The Prophet ﷺ used to raise his hands in qunūt al-nāzilah.
(Narrated by al-Bayhaqī with an authentic isnād)
And Allah knows best.
