What is the ruling on making up missed fasts late and the expiation?

Question:.

I am a seventeen-year-old girl. My question is that during the first two years of my youth, I missed some fasts in Ramadan due to a valid excuse, and I have not yet made them up. What should I do now?

Fatwa:.

It is obligatory for you to make up the missed fasts, and it is necessary that you do so as soon as possible, even if you do it intermittently. It is also necessary to pay the expiation for each fast, which is to feed a poor person, and according to the opinion of the majority of scholars, this expiation is required because there has been a delay of more than a year in making up the fasts.
