The River of Paradise Flowed into the Cave of Thawr

❖ Incident in the Cave of Thawr

It is narrated from Ibn ʿAbbās (رضي الله عنهما) that when Abu Bakr al-Ṣiddīq (رضي الله عنه) was in the Cave of Thawr with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), he felt thirsty. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
"Go to the mouth of the cave; there you will find water to drink."

Abu Bakr al-Ṣiddīq (رضي الله عنه) went to the mouth of the cave and drank the water. That water was sweeter than honey, whiter than milk, and more fragrant than musk. When he returned, the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:

The angel entrusted with the rivers of Paradise was commanded by Allah ﷻ to bring the water of a river from Jannat al-Firdaus to the mouth of the cave for your sake.
