It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (RA) that the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:
When the Torah was revealed to Prophet Musa (AS), he read it and found a mention of this Ummah (the followers of Muhammad ﷺ) in it. He prayed, "O Lord, I see in the tablets of the Torah a nation whose time will be in the latter days, but they will enter Paradise before others. Include such people in my Ummah." Allah Almighty replied, "That nation belongs to Ahmad, the Chosen One ﷺ."
Prophet Musa (AS) then said, "O Lord! From these tablets, I have learned that this Ummah will have the Divine Book in their hearts, and whenever they recite it, it will be evident. Make this Ummah mine." Allah again replied, "That nation belongs to Ahmad ﷺ."
Prophet Musa (AS) further said, "O Creator of the Universe! I found in these tablets that this Ummah will enjoy the spoils of war as a blessing. Include such people in my Ummah." Allah replied, "That nation belongs to Ahmad ﷺ."
Prophet Musa (AS) continued, "I have seen in these tablets that this Ummah will consume charity and then be rewarded for it. Make this Ummah mine." Allah Almighty replied, "That nation belongs to Ahmad ﷺ."
Prophet Musa (AS) then said, "O Lord! I have read in these tablets that if someone from this Ummah intends to perform a good deed but cannot fulfill it due to incapacity, it will still be written as a good deed for them. If they perform it, they will be rewarded tenfold. Make this Ummah mine." Allah replied, "That nation belongs to Ahmad ﷺ."
Prophet Musa (AS) said, "O Almighty Lord! I have seen in these tablets that if someone from this Ummah intends to commit an evil act but refrains from it out of fear of Allah, nothing will be recorded against them. If they commit it, only one sin will be recorded. Include such people in my Ummah." Allah responded, "That nation belongs to Ahmad ﷺ."
Prophet Musa (AS) further said, "O Lord! I found in these tablets that this Ummah will inherit the knowledge of the earlier and later generations and will destroy false leaders and the Antichrist (Dajjal). Include them in my Ummah." Allah replied, "That nation belongs to Ahmad ﷺ."
Finally, Prophet Musa (AS) pleaded, "O Merciful Lord! Then make me part of the Ummah of Ahmad ﷺ." In response, Allah bestowed two special qualities upon Prophet Musa (AS) and said:
قَالَ يَا مُوسَىٰ إِنِّي اصْطَفَيْتُكَ عَلَى النَّاسِ بِرِسَالَاتِي وَبِكَلَامِي فَخُذْ مَا آتَيْتُكَ وَكُن مِّنَ الشَّاكِرِينَ
(Surah Al-A'raf)
Translation: "O Musa! I have chosen you above the people with My messages and My speech, so take what I have given you and be among the grateful."
Upon hearing this, Prophet Musa (AS) said, "O Lord, I am satisfied."
