In reference to the Masnūn Khutbah (Prescribed Sermon), are the following phrases authentically established from Ṣaḥīḥ Hadith?
➊ "وَنُؤْمِنُ بِهِ وَنَتَوَكَّلُ عَلَيْهِ"
("We believe in Him and place our trust in Him.")
➋ "وَنَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا... وَنَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا..."
("And we bear witness that there is no... and that Muḥammad is...")
These phrases are commonly recited in sermons. Are they part of the original prophetic practice?
الحمد لله، والصلاة والسلام علىٰ رسول الله، أما بعد!
◈ The phrases mentioned above are not authentically established from any Ṣaḥīḥ Hadith of the Prophet ﷺ.
✔ Therefore, incorporating them into the Masnūn Khutbah cannot be considered Sunnah.
