➐ Is the call of Jamaat al-Muslimeen correct or not?
❖ Answer
All praise is due to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah. To proceed:
➊ The Name Ahl-e-Hadith
- The term “Ahl-e-Hadith” as a name is similar to using “Jamaat al-Muslimeen” as a name.
- Neither of these terms appear as proper names in the Qur’an or Sunnah.
- Though some Hadiths mention “Jamaat al-Muslimeen”, they do so descriptively, not as an official title or name.
- Therefore, to label one term as bid‘ah (innovation) and not the other is unjust.
- It is true, however, that the term “Ahl-e-Hadith” does not appear in any authentic Hadith as a formal title.
➋ The Sayings and Actions of the Prophet ﷺ
- There is no contradiction whatsoever between the words and actions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.
➌ Obligation to Follow the Prophet ﷺ
- In our belief, every command of the Prophet ﷺ is obligatory to follow.
- The only exception is where clear evidence from the Book of Allah or the Sunnah itself provides a contextual indication (قرینہ صارفہ) showing the command was not meant to be obligatory.
➍ Our Position on Taqlid
- Our belief is that Taqlid (blind following) is unlawful, whether personal or general.
- If any individual from Ahl-e-Hadith or Jamaat al-Muslimeen engages in Taqlid, this is his personal shortcoming, and he must refrain from it.
➎ On Having a School of Thought (Maslak or Madhhab)
- The status of a maslak or madhhab is like that of a personal opinion or fatwa.
- If it opposes Islam, then it is invalid just as any statement or verdict that contradicts Islam is invalid.
➏ The Foundations of Religion
- Islam alone is the religion, and it is preserved in the Qur’an and Sunnah until the Day of Judgment.
- Only the Qur’an and Sunnah are binding proofs (ḥujjah).
- The Ijma‘ (consensus) and Qiyas (analogical reasoning) being proof is not established directly from the Qur’an or authentic Hadith.
➐ The Call of Jamaat al-Muslimeen
- The overall message of Jamaat al-Muslimeen is generally correct.
- However, there are certain aspects that are not correct, and need to be addressed.
هٰذا ما عندي، والله أعلم بالصواب
This is what I have, and Allah knows best what is correct.
