Topic: A Critical Analysis of Modern Atheistic Thought
Atheism is not a new or novel ideology; rather, it is an ancient psychological issue that has affected certain individuals throughout history. Even during the time of the Prophet Muḥammad ﷺ, there were those who attributed cosmic changes to time itself and rejected the idea of resurrection. The Qur’an comments on such mindsets and beliefs in multiple instances.
In today’s era, atheism has emerged as a cultural trend, masquerading under the veil of modernity and enlightenment. Many present themselves as "up-to-date" thinkers while opposing religion. However, the reality is:
✔ 95% of modern atheists follow atheism as a fashion statement,
✔ They believe themselves to be guided by logic, yet lack understanding of their own beliefs’ core principles and limits.
In truth, this rationalism is often a self-deception. Most do not realize that they are blindly imitating Western narratives, while falsely imagining themselves as critical thinkers.
When modern atheists are confronted with intellectual questions, most:
◈ Fail to comprehend the question,
◈ Let alone provide a meaningful response.
Their primary tactic becomes:
“Insult religion to divert attention from the actual issue.”
Try raising a scholarly objection in any online atheist forum, and you will quickly realize:
✔ They lack substantive answers,
✔ Their entire defense is rooted in criticism, not reason.
Even prominent atheist thinkers often struggle to address profound questions such as:
◈ The origin and basis of morality
◈ The purpose of existence
◈ The limits of science
◈ The universality of human rights or democracy
When faced with such topics, they tend to evade the discussion. As for local atheist circles, they engage in superficial and absurd debates, despite having no real grasp of the subjects involved.
Many beliefs propagated in atheist circles are not based on personal research, but on blind following. Ironically:
◈ A religious person who follows tradition is labeled a “blind follower,”
◈ Whereas an atheist doing the same is called “rational,” “scientific,” or a “free thinker.”
Is this what we call free thought?
In truth, such individuals are only deluding themselves with the label of “free thinker.”
Atheists often invoke science in support of their views. But when:
✔ Discussions move to an academic level, and
✔ Scientific evidence surfaces that supports religious concepts,
They retreat from their claims, exposing the inconsistency of their stance.
In reality, atheism is a chaotic, incoherent ideology that:
◈ Has no language,
◈ No ethics,
◈ And no constructive philosophy.
It is simply a repetitive cycle of “no, no” in response to every question and truth. Their entire framework is built on denying what they fail to understand, rather than sincerely investigating it.
Conclusion
Modern atheism, despite its loud claims of reason and logic, stands exposed as:
✔ A psychological impulse rather than an intellectual necessity,
✔ A social trend instead of a grounded worldview,
✔ And a reactionary stance that collapses under honest and informed inquiry.
The Muslim world must recognize the deeper roots of atheistic thought and respond with intellectual clarity grounded in Islamic epistemology.

❖ Science: A Tool or a Contradiction?
Atheists often invoke science in support of their views. But when:
✔ Discussions move to an academic level, and

They retreat from their claims, exposing the inconsistency of their stance.
❖ Atheism: A Hollow Slogan of Rejection
