❖ Question:
Does Shayṭān have a group or faction?
❖ Answer:
Yes, he does.
Allah ﷻ states:
“Indeed, Shayṭān is an enemy to you, so take him as an enemy. He only invites his party to be among the companions of the Blazing Fire.”
(Sūrah Fāṭir, 35:6)
❖ Explanation
This verse clarifies:
➤ Shayṭān is not a passive entity; rather, he stands actively opposed to human beings. He maintains a group (ḥizb)—a faction or party—dedicated to his mission of misguiding humanity.
➤ The purpose of this group is to lead people astray so that they ultimately become inhabitants of Hellfire.
➤ Hence, Allah commands the believers to take Shayṭān as an enemy, opposing his deceptions, resisting his calls, and not being lured by the illusions of worldly life.
Allah also warns:
فَلَا تَغُرَّنَّكُمُ الْحَيَاةُ الدُّنْيَا ۖ وَلَا يَغُرَّنَّكُم بِاللَّـهِ الْغَرُورُ
“So let not the worldly life delude you, and let not the Deceiver deceive you about Allah.”
(Sūrah Fāṭir, 35:5)
❖ Conclusion
Shayṭān possesses an organized faction (ḥizb al-shayṭān) with the explicit goal of misleading humanity. Believers are divinely instructed to recognize this enmity, reject his deceit, and follow the path of Allah’s messengers. The way to salvation lies in holding firmly to divine guidance and not succumbing to worldly or satanic deception.
