When Satan beautifies sins for me, how should I resist him?
Place your trust in Allah.
Allah ﷻ says:
**
فَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى اللَّـهِ ۖ إِنَّكَ عَلَى الْحَقِّ الْمُبِينِ
**
"So rely upon Allah. Indeed, you are upon the clear truth."
[Al-Naml: 79]
Imām Ibn al-Jawzī رحمه الله once asked his student:
"How will you protect yourself from Satan?"
The student replied:
"I will confront him."
Imām said:
"And if he comes again?"
Student replied:
"I will confront him again with all my strength and determination."
Imām Ibn al-Jawzī رحمه الله responded:
"This matter will become drawn out and exhausting for you. The true solution is that you seek the protection of the Lord of Satan – He will drive him away from you."
✓ Continual resistance against Satan with one’s own strength is insufficient.
✓ True refuge lies in turning to Allah, placing full trust in Him, and seeking His protection.
✓ When Satan beautifies sins, do not attempt to face him alone—seek refuge with the One who created him.

To protect oneself from the deception of Satan and the allure of sin, complete reliance on Allah and seeking His refuge is the prophetic and most effective solution. Human strength alone cannot overcome Satan’s persistent whispers.
