The Honorable Title of the Prophet ﷺ: Al-Mahdi

Ibn Saʿd has narrated the elegy (marṯiyah) of Ḥassān ibn Thābit رضي الله عنه as follows:
«جزعا على المهدي اصبح ثاويا يا خير من وطى الحصى لاتبعدي»
"Sleepless out of grief for al-Mahdi who is now buried; O the best of those who ever tread the pebbles, do not go far away."

Ibn Saʿd has reported this elegy through al-Wāqidī, who is a liar (kadhdhāb) and rejected (matrūk).
