If we look beyond the glittering deception of today’s materialistic civilization, a terrifying reality unfolds — one that reveals the dire state of humanity. People across the world are shackled by base desires, embroiled in relentless pursuits of wealth and power. Moral values have faded, and crimes have multiplied in tandem with so-called civilizational progress. Mental unrest and psychological disorders have stripped away inner peace, exposing a deep-seated corruption in human character and consciousness that affects every facet of life.
Truth has disappeared from philosophy and wisdom, while ideological balance has been lost. Spiritual values have scattered, justice has vanished from law, and self-interest dominates politics rather than public service. Economies have split into classes of oppressors and oppressed, and even fine arts have become enslaved to lust and base desires. Every aspect of civilization is filled with contradictions and ongoing conflict, turning history into a terrifying drama.
Although the intellect has progressed, its ignorance and errors continue to damage humanity. Despite access to knowledge, mankind suffers from self-inflicted ignorance. Treasures of wealth are abundant, yet hunger, poverty, and deprivation crush human lives. Numerous organizations and political systems exist, yet love and brotherhood have disappeared. Human relationships now resemble those of predators — tigers and wolves in constant conflict.
Despite claims of progress in intellect, ethics, and culture, oppression and violence continue to haunt humanity. Across the globe, conflicts rage between competing ideologies and powers — imperialism vs. freedom, communism vs. capitalism, democracy vs. dictatorship, individualism vs. collectivism, and Western vs. Eastern ideologies.
In this era where artificial satellites, missiles, and nuclear energy empower man with immense physical control, he remains helpless before the forces of destruction and evil. These forces continually turn against mankind, wrecking its great achievements and tearing down magnificent civilizations.
In this atmosphere of darkness, as I look around, all I see is shadow and gloom. Yet, in this stormy sea, a distant point of light glows — that radiant beacon lit fourteen centuries ago by the greatest benefactor of humanity, Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
That torch of guidance, which still has the power to lead us out of this abyss — but sadly, we, the followers of the Prophet ﷺ, have lost that light ourselves, through confused thoughts and disordered actions.
