Is it permissible to construct a separate mosque due to disputes? For instance, if the administrators of an existing mosque prevent associates of Markaz al-Daʿwah wal-Irshād from presenting the Prophetic methodology of Da’wah and Jihad, would it be Islamically justified to establish a new mosque?
✦ In the situation described above, constructing a separate mosque is not Islamically permissible.
Islamic teachings discourage the construction of new mosques on the basis of personal or ideological disputes. Rather, believers are encouraged to resolve differences through mutual understanding and to perform prayers in unity and harmony.
The purpose of a mosque is to serve as a place of worship that unites Muslims, not to become a symbol of division and sectarianism. According to the Qur’an and Sunnah, disputes should be minimized and efforts should be made toward reconciliation and collective worship.
Constructing a new mosque based on division not only undermines the objective of building for the sake of Allah’s pleasure but also fuels discord among the Muslim community, which is strongly condemned in Islam.
① Building a separate mosque due to disputes or ideological differences is not permissible.
② The purpose of a mosque is to unite, not divide Muslims.
③ Disagreements should be resolved through dialogue and understanding, not by furthering separation.
