“O Muḥammad ﷺ! A wave of joy has spread among the angels in the heavens due to the Islam of ʿUmar رضي الله عنه.”
❖ Ḥadīth Verification

- This narration is recorded by Ibn Mājah, Kitāb al-Sunnah, under the chapter “The Virtue of ʿUmar”, Ḥadīth no. 103.
- Būṣayrī states that there is a consensus on the weakness of the narrator ʿAbdullāh ibn Kharrāsh, and only Ibn Ḥibbān made a lone attempt at affirming his reliability.
- Shaykh al-Albānī رحمه الله has also classified this ḥadīth as severely weak in al-Ḍaʿīfah and other works.
