The Heinous Nature of Sodomy in Islam

Hadith Evidence Regarding the Act of Bestiality

Narrated by Amr from Ikrimah, from Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him), who said:

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
"Whoever you find committing the act with an animal, kill him and also kill the animal."

Someone asked Ibn Abbas:
"What about the animal?"
He replied:
"I have not heard anything from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ regarding this, but I believe that the Prophet ﷺ disliked the idea of benefiting from the meat of an animal with which such a vile act has been committed."

Reported by Tirmidhi, Ahmad (1/629), Abu Dawud (4464), Daraqutni (3/126), Bayhaqi (8/233), Hakim (4/355)

Important Points Derived from This Hadith

The Prophet ﷺ commanded that one who commits bestiality should be executed.

The animal involved should also be killed — not as punishment, but to remove any utility from a creature subjected to such vile abuse.

This underscores how disgraceful and loathsome this act is; it renders even a lawful animal detestable to the extent of complete rejection.
