Hadith Reference:
Narrated in Sahih al-Bukhari, from Abu Musa (RA) who reported that the Prophet ﷺ said:
“The person who gets the greatest reward for prayer is the one who walks the farthest distance to the mosque, and the one who waits for the prayer until he offers it with the Imam receives a greater reward than the one who prays and then goes to sleep.”
[References: Bukhari 651, Muslim 663]
➋ Walking from a distance towards the mosque becomes a source of immense reward.
➌ Mosques are unique locations on Earth where advancing towards them earns divine reward. They are considered the most blessed places on the surface of the Earth.
➍ Waiting for one prayer after having offered another is a praiseworthy act. It signifies love for worship and a deep consciousness of Allah. A heedless person does not exhibit such behavior. One who waits for the next prayer remains in a state of prayer, and such a person is better than the one who performs a prayer and then sleeps.
➎ Walking from a distance, performing prayer in congregation, and waiting for the next prayer—these are characteristics exclusive to a pious individual.
