﴿ إِنَّ الْأَبْرَارَ لَفِي نَعِيمٍ(13) وَإِنَّ الْفُجَّارَ لَفِي جَحِيمٍ(14) ﴾
"Indeed, the righteous will be in bliss, and indeed, the wicked will be in Hellfire."
[Sūrah al-Infiṭār: 13–14]
This reality is described in another verse:
﴿ فَرِيقٌ فِي الْجَنَّةِ وَفَرِيقٌ فِي السَّعِيرِ ﴾
"A group will be in Paradise, and a group will be in the blazing Fire."
[Sūrah al-Shūrā: 7]
Imām Ibn Jarīr al-Ṭabarī said:
"Indeed, those who act righteously by fulfilling the obligations of Allah and avoiding His disobedience will certainly be in the delights of Paradise, enjoying its blessings."
[Jāmiʿ al-Bayān, Tafsīr Ibn Jarīr 30/56]
Imām al-Wāḥidī wrote:
"Paradise is in the Hereafter."
[Al-Wasīṭ 8/438]
Ibn Jarīr further added:
"And certainly those wicked ones who disbelieved in their Lord will indeed be in the blazing Fire."
[Jāmiʿ al-Bayān 30/56]
Imām al-Wāḥidī, explaining the verse, stated:
"And indeed the wicked—those who denied the Prophet ﷺ—will be in Hellfire, which is an immense blazing Fire."
[Al-Wasīṭ 8/438]
This makes it absolutely clear that on the Day of Judgment, all of humanity will be divided into only two groups, and the basis for this division will be:
✔ Faith (Īmān)
✔ Righteous deeds (ʿAmāl Ṣāliḥah)
All other distinctions—race, language, ethnicity, nationality, or region—will cease to hold any value. The only lasting distinction will be between those who are destined for Paradise and those consigned to Hellfire.
