❖ Testimony from Among the People:

A witness from her own people testified...

❖ The Testimony of ʿAbdullāh ibn Salām

When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ arrived in Madinah, people rushed towards him in great numbers, saying:
“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ has arrived!”

So, I too went along with the crowd to see him.
When I looked at the face of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, I immediately realized that this is not the face of a liar.

❖ The Prophet ﷺ’s First Words in Madinah

The very first statement he ﷺ made was:

Translation:

“O people! Spread Salām, feed one another, pray while people are asleep, and you shall enter Paradise in peace.”
(Sunan al-Tirmidhī, Book of Asceticism, Chapter 42, Ḥadīth 2385)
Tirmidhī: This ḥadīth is ḥasan (authentic).
Ḥākim: Ṣaḥīḥ according to the conditions of al-Bukhārī and Muslim
Al-Dhahabī agreed with him (al-Mustadrak, 3:120)

❖ Note:

Sayyidunā ʿAbdullāh ibn Salām رضي الله عنه was a Jewish rabbi from the learned scholars of Banū Isrāʾīl, who accepted Islam after witnessing the truth of the Prophet ﷺ.
