✦ Narration of Āminah’s Dream
It is narrated from ʿAbdullāh ibn ʿAbbās (RA):Āminah, the mother of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, would recount the incident of his birth, saying:
“I was in a state of amazement when I saw three men appear before me, their faces shining like the sun.
One held a silver vessel emitting the fragrance of musk, the second held a green emerald tablet with four corners, in each of which was a white pearl.
Then a voice was heard:
‘O Beloved of Allah! The entire world—East and West, land and sea—has appeared before you. Take whichever part you wish into your grasp.’
I turned to look and saw the child placing his hand in the center. Then the voice proclaimed:
‘By the Lord of the Kaʿbah! Muḥammad has conquered the Kaʿbah. Yes, this Kaʿbah shall remain his Qiblah and place of residence.’
The third man held a piece of white silk, from which he took out a ring that astonished all who looked at it.
He came to me; the one with the vessel washed the ring seven times with the liquid from the silver vessel.
Then they sealed the shoulder of the child with that ring, wrapped him in the silk, and tied it with threads of pure musk.
He then held the child in his arms for a short while.”
Ibn ʿAbbās (RA) said:
“That was Riḍwān, the keeper of Paradise. Then he whispered something into the child’s ear, which I could not understand.
After that, he said:
‘O Muḥammad! Rejoice, for no prophet has been given a knowledge greater than yours. You have been made braver than all previous messengers.
The keys of victory and divine help have been granted to you, and awe has been instilled in your favor—whoever hears your name, even if they’ve never seen you, will tremble.
O Caliph of Allah!’”

➤ Verdict: Baseless and Unfounded (بے اصل و بے بنیاد)
- The source of this narration is the book "Mīlād" authored by Yaḥyā ibn ʿĀʾidh, who died in 378 AH.
- The hadith scholar Ibn Daḥiyyah, despite his known severity, only graded it as "gharīb" (strange)—a lenient evaluation.
- However, declaring it "gharīb" is itself a form of undue validation, as in reality this entire narrative is baseless and lacks any authentic foundation in reliable sources.
⚠ Conclusion:
This narration, though often quoted in folk traditions and popular "Mīlād" literature, has no reliable chain of transmission and is classified as fabricated or baseless by critical scholars. It must not be accepted as part of authentic Sīrah or used in sermons, writings, or educational material without appropriate scholarly disclaimer.
