Is gambling from Shayṭān?
Yes.
Allah Almighty, while prohibiting His servants from wine and gambling, says:
[Sūrah al-Mā’idah: 90–91]
“O you who believe! Indeed, wine, gambling, (sacrificing on) stone altars, and divining arrows are impure—of Shayṭān’s work. So avoid them, that you may be successful. Shayṭān only wants to sow enmity and hatred among you through wine and gambling and to hinder you from the remembrance of Allah and from prayer. So will you not desist?”
Hazrat ʿAbdullāh ibn ʿAbbās (رضي الله عنهما) interpreted the phrase "رِجْسٌ مِّنْ عَمَلِ الشَّيْطَانِ" to mean:
“Divine wrath due to Shayṭān’s deeds.”
This is because wine is the mother of all evils.
