Chapter: Warning Against Falsely Accusing One’s Slave of Adultery
[Agreed Upon: Reported by al-Bukhārī 6058; Muslim 1660:37]
Narrated by Abū Hurayrah
I heard Abū al-Qāsim (the Messenger of Allah ﷺ) say:
“Whoever accuses his slave of adultery, and the slave is innocent of what he has been accused of, will be flogged on the Day of Judgment — unless he (the master) is truthful in his claim.”
✔ Islam strictly prohibits false accusations, especially against those under one's authority.
✔ Such injustice will not be overlooked, and its punishment will be delivered in the Hereafter.
✔ The Day of Judgment will expose every false claim — even if it was once hidden or protected by worldly power.
✔ Truth and justice must prevail in all dealings, particularly with subordinates like slaves or workers.
