Sayyiduna Anas ibn Mālik (رضي الله عنه) reported:
“We were with Sayyiduna ‘Umar (رضي الله عنه) when the Messenger of Allah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said:
‘We have been forbidden from indulging in pretentiousness.’
(تهينا عن التكلف)
(Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī: 7293)
