Chapter: The Best of People is He from Whom Goodness is Hoped and People Are Safe from His Evil
❀ Narrated by Abu Hurairah (رضي الله عنه)
He said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ once stood among a group of people who were sitting and said:
“Shall I not inform you of the best and the worst among you?”
The people remained silent, so he repeated this three times. Then a man said: “Yes, O Messenger of Allah! Tell us who are the best and the worst among us.”
The Prophet ﷺ said: “The best among you is the one from whom goodness is expected and from whose evil people are safe. And the worst among you is the one from whom no good is expected and from whose evil people are not safe.”
