This excerpt is taken from Sheikh Irshad Ullah Maan's book The Search for Truth.
It is also necessary to discuss the Tablighi Jamaat of Raiwind; in this regard, the following points are noteworthy:
[1] Remember, they are Hanafi Deobandi. There are frequent discussions with members of the Tablighi Jamaat,
Among them are the educated class and the general members of the Tablighi Jamaat. When they are asked how many types of shirk (polytheism) are currently present in the Muslim Ummah and how many types of worship are being performed, till today no member of the Tablighi Jamaat has been found who knows these matters. This is a very regrettable thing. The Tablighi Jamaat members should have complete knowledge of Tawheed (monotheism), shirk, their types, and the types of worship in the light of the Quran and Hadith. If a person does not have knowledge of these fundamental beliefs of Islam, then what will he preach? It is like someone going out for jihad, and when the battlefield heats up, he says that he does not even have any weapons. This matter is extremely astonishing because the Messenger of Allah ﷺ preached these very fundamental beliefs of Islam during his thirteen years in Makkah, and the Quran and Hadith bear witness to this.
[2] The three books of the Tablighi Jamaat, Faza'il-e-A'mal, Faza'il-e-Sadaqat, and especially Faza'il-e-Durood, are filled with connections between the deceased and the living people of the world. These matters fall under shirk in knowledge and shirk in action, as previously explained under shirk in knowledge, Tawheed in knowledge, shirk in action, and Tawheed in action; these issues require contemplation.
[3] In the above-mentioned books of the Tablighi Jamaat, many statements and actions of elders are written that are directly against the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and these points need to be considered. For example:
(1) It is written in Faza'il-e-A'mal that Maulana Zakariya started this book when he was not mentally capable.
(2) Those who died from reciting the Holy Quran.
(3) Not everyone should follow the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and the Companions, may Allah be pleased with them.
Reference: (Faza'il-e-A'mal's exhortation)
(4) A Companion who follows the Shafi'i school of thought. (Strange logic)
(5) Marrying the widow of a martyr without observing the waiting period ('iddah).
Reference: (The achievement of Faza'il-e-A'mal)
(6) Hasan رضي الله عنه had memorized a few hadiths by the age of seven.
(7) Husain رضي الله عنه had memorized only eight hadiths by the age of six.
(8) Maulvi Zakariya's father had memorized a quarter of the Quran by the age of two.
Prohibiting taking guidance and direction from the great book like the Quran, urging to read virtues of deeds, taking pledges to spread it in gatherings, etc. This is merely a claim, while in practice the love is for the way of their elders who are spreading it. Therefore, it was necessary to make common Muslims aware of this reality, for which efforts have been made according to one's capacity. Similarly, the elders and devotees of the Tablighi Jamaat are also requested not to make the matter of religion an issue of their ego, stubbornness, and honor, and to reform the virtues of deeds or else not present it for preaching, and instead read and recite the better book, the Holy Quran, for invitation and preaching. Likewise, instead of adhering to certain customs and innovations in Tablighi gatherings, they should be reformed:
[1] Stop the business of distorting Quranic verses and present the Holy Quran exactly as Allah revealed it and the Prophet ﷺ explained it to the Ummah.
[2] Stop opposing jihad and prepare people to fight against disbelief, so that trials are removed from the earth, Islam prevails, Muslims can practice Allah's religion freely, and peace is established in the world. May Allah grant us the ability to serve the religion of Islam, grant us a conclusion in faith, and bless us with martyrdom at death. Ameen!!
[3] We have tested practically many times that the Tablighi Jamaat of Raiwind neither recites the Quran nor listens to it, neither do they listen to books of hadith nor do they recite them. Trial is a condition.
[4] And nowadays, the widespread polytheism, disbelief, and innovations in the Muslim Ummah are not even mentioned. Such confrontations and debates with the people of falsehood have always been the capital of action for the people of truth, and the fact that no one openly repented from disbelief and atheism in these debates has never become an obstacle for future debates. This is the Sunnah of the Prophets. The preaching of enjoining good along with forbidding evil is the Sunnah of the Prophets. If you emphasize enjoining good and do not even mention forbidding evil, then this cannot be the Sunnah of the Prophets; rather, this was the method of the Jews, which the Quran has criticized as follows:
Do you believe in part of the Scripture and disbelieve in part?
Reference: Al-Baqarah:85
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ explicitly mentioned forbidding evil along with countering the trials of the people of falsehood.

It is purely false.
[66],[70] Encouragement to follow the elders.
Remember, unconditional obedience to scholars and elders is forbidden.
[88] Shibli is mad and the call of O Muhammad ﷺ.
Then what difference remains between the teachings of the Barelvi followers and the Tablighi Jamaat?
[98] The Prophet ﷺ did not have a shadow.
Then what difference remains between the teachings of the Barelvi followers and the Tablighi Jamaat?
Some people say that the Prophet ﷺ was not a human but only light, and therefore he had no shadow; this is also false. Come, I will prove from the Quran and Sunnah that he ﷺ had a shadow:
First Evidence:
And to Allah prostrates whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth, willingly or unwillingly, and their shadows also prostrate at morning and evening.
Reference: (Ar-Ra'd:15)
In this verse, it is stated "whatever is in the heavens and the earth," so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ is also on the earth, therefore you also prostrated to Allah and you also had a shadow. The Quran proves the shadow of the Prophet ﷺ.
Second Evidence:
Have they not seen that whatever Allah has created, all their shadows move to the right and to the left, humbly prostrating before Allah?
Reference: (An-Nahl:48)
The shadows of all creatures are proven in this verse. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ is also a creature, therefore you ﷺ also had a shadow.
Third Evidence:
Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that we were on a journey with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when Sayyida Safiya’s (may Allah be pleased with her) camel became ill. Sayyida Zainab (may Allah be pleased with her) had an extra camel. The Prophet ﷺ said: Zainab! Give this camel to Safiya for riding. Sayyida Zainab (may Allah be pleased with her) said: Should I give it to this Jewess? (Sayyida Safiya (may Allah be pleased with her) had converted to Islam from a Jewish family.) The Prophet ﷺ became displeased upon hearing this and stopped speaking to Sayyida Zainab (may Allah be pleased with her). Several days of Dhu al-Hijjah, Muharram, Safar, and some days of Rabi' al-Awwal passed. After a long boycott, Sayyida Zainab (may Allah be pleased with her) thought that now the Prophet ﷺ no longer needed me. She wanted to pick up her belongings and her bed and says: (فَبَيْنَمَا أَنَا يَوْمًا بِنِصْفِ النَّهَارِ إِذَا أَنَا بِظِلِّ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ مُقْبِلٍ)
That while I was sitting in this contemplation, it was noon, suddenly I saw the shadow of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.

Ahmad Raza Khan's translation mentions the blessed shadow of the Prophet ﷺ but, as usual, with a little confusion.

Fourth Evidence:
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik رضي الله عنه narrates that once the Prophet ﷺ led us in the morning prayer. During the prayer, he ﷺ extended his hand forward and then pulled it back. When he ﷺ finished and turned in salaam, the companions رضي الله عنهم asked him about it. He ﷺ said: During the prayer, I saw Paradise in a state of unveiling before me, and its fruits were bending close. I intended to pluck some of those fruits, but Paradise was removed by the command of Allah. Then I saw Hell: ( ثم عرضت علي النار، بيني و بينكم حتى رأيت ظلي و ظلكم )
Then Hell was presented before me between me and you, until in the light of that fire I saw my shadow and your shadow.
Reference: Sahih Ibn Khuzaymah: Hadith 892 and its chain is authentic], [Al-Mustadrak by Al-Hakim: 2/356 and in the new edition: 3/503, Hadith 8308 and its chain is Hasan Lidhatihi
I have proven from the Quran and Sunnah that it is the shadow of the Prophet ﷺ.
[91] The Prophet ﷺ placed his hand on the belly of the black-faced woman.
This is an open attack on the honor of the Messenger (ﷺ) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ placed his hand on the belly of a non-mahram woman.
Finally, it would not be inappropriate to mention a cassette of a very prominent scholar and preacher of the Tablighi Jamaat. This cassette has been widely distributed across the country and contains a long speech by them (T.J.), in which, among many other things, they state that when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ went to his Lord, all the veils of light were removed, and Allah Almighty and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ were face to face, and the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) saw his Lord. However, this statement is explicitly contrary to the Holy Quran
Reference: (Al-An'am: 101 to 103)
and also contradicts the Hadith of Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), in which she said: Whoever says that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw his Lord is a liar.

We will earnestly request the members of the Tablighi Jamaat to read the Quran carefully, to study Sahih Bukhari, Sahih Muslim, and other books of Hadith thoroughly, to read the famous books of Hanafi jurisprudence carefully, to read the book Haqiqat al-Fiqh, to form a board of scholars who write books on beliefs in the light of the Quran, Hadith, and jurisprudence. Then preach with enthusiasm, teach every member of the Tablighi Jamaat about beliefs so that they can inform the public.
