Is it Sunnah to invite friends and loved ones for a feast upon returning from Hajj or Umrah?
Answer:
Hosting a feast for friends upon returning from the journey of Hajj is Mustahabb (recommended), as narrated by Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (رضي الله عنه). He reports that when the Messenger of Allah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) returned to Madina Munawwarah after the journey of Hajj, he arranged a feast for the people by slaughtering a camel or a cow (the narrator is uncertain which one).
