Chapter: Generosity, Kindness, and Charity
❀ Narrated by Jabir (رضي الله عنه)
He said: It never happened that anyone asked the Prophet ﷺ for something and he said, “No.”

❀ Narrated by Sahl bin Sa’d (رضي الله عنه)
A woman brought a cloak to the Prophet ﷺ. Sahl said to the people: “Do you know what a cloak is?” They replied, “It is a shawl.” Sahl said: “It is a woven cloak with a border.” The woman said, “O Messenger of Allah, I have brought this to clothe you.” The Prophet ﷺ took it, as he needed it, and wore it. One of the companions saw it on him and said, “O Messenger of Allah, how beautiful this cloak is! Please give it to me.” The Prophet ﷺ said, “Yes.” When the Prophet ﷺ stood up to leave, his companions rebuked that man, saying, “You did not do well! You saw that the Prophet ﷺ took it out of need, yet you asked him for it, knowing he never refuses anything asked of him.” The man replied, “I wanted its blessing, as the Prophet ﷺ had worn it, so I hoped to be shrouded in it.”

❀ Narrated by Asma bint Abi Bakr (رضي الله عنهما)
She said: I came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, “O Prophet of Allah, I have nothing except what Az-Zubair brings home. Is there any sin upon me if I give charity from what he brings home?” The Prophet ﷺ said: “Give charity according to your ability, and do not hoard, lest Allah withhold from you.”

❀ Narrated by Aisha (رضي الله عنها)
She said: A beggar came, and I said to the servant: “Give him something.” The Prophet ﷺ said: “O Aisha, do not count (stingily), or Allah will also count against you.”

The Prophet ﷺ said: “Indeed, Allah is Generous and loves generosity and high moral character, and He dislikes lowly manners.”
