صليت أنا ويتيم في بيتنا خلف النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، وأمي أم سليم خلفنا
“I and an orphan offered prayer behind the Prophet ﷺ in our house, and my mother, Umm Sulaym رضي الله عنها, stood behind us.”

“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ led me and my mother—or aunt—in prayer. He ﷺ made me stand to his right and placed the woman behind us.”

صلى بي رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم وبامرأة من أهلي، فأقامني عن يمينه، والمرأة خلفنا
“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ led me and a woman from my household in prayer. He ﷺ made me stand to his right and placed the woman behind us.”

❀ This narration has been declared Ṣaḥīḥ (authentic) by Imām Ibn Khuzaymah (1537) and Imām Ibn Ḥibbān (2204).

إن أبا طلحة دعا رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم إلى عمير بن أبي طلحة حين توفي، فأتاهم رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، فصلى عليه في منزلهم، فتقدم رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، وكان أبو طلحة وراءه، وأم سليم وراء أبي طلحة، ولم يكن معهم غيرهم
“Abū Ṭalḥah رضي الله عنه invited the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to come upon the death of ʿUmayr bin Abī Ṭalḥah. The Prophet ﷺ came to their home and performed the funeral prayer. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood in front, Abū Ṭalḥah stood behind him, and Umm Sulaym stood behind Abū Ṭalḥah. There was no one else with them.”

Its chain is authentic.
Imām al-Ḥākim declared it authentic according to the conditions of Bukhārī and Muslim, and al-Ḏhahabī agreed with him.
“I got married, and on the night of my wedding, some of the Companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ were with me. When the time for prayer arrived, Abū Dharr رضي الله عنه intended to lead the prayer, but Ḥudhayfah رضي الله عنه pulled him back and said, ‘The master of the house has more right to lead the prayer.’ He then asked Abū Masʿūd رضي الله عنه, ‘Is that correct?’ He replied, ‘Yes.’
Abū Saʿīd says: So I stepped forward and led them in prayer, even though I was a slave at that time. Then they instructed me: ‘When you go to your wife, pray two rakʿahs, and if she wishes to pray, she should stand behind you.’”

A Single Woman Constitutes a Row in Prayer
❀ Statement of Sayyidunā Anas bin Mālik رضي الله عنه:
