《Chapter: Love for Allah and His Messenger》
◈ The Qualities of Those Who Truly Love Allah and His Prophet ﷺ ◈
[Surah al-Tawbah: 24]
"Say: If your fathers, your sons, your brothers, your spouses, your relatives, the wealth you have acquired, the trade you fear will decline, and the homes you cherish are more beloved to you than Allah and His Messenger and striving in His path, then wait until Allah brings about His decree. And Allah does not guide the defiantly disobedient."
➤ This verse tests the sincerity of love for Allah and His Messenger ﷺ. Nothing—whether people, wealth, or possessions—should be more beloved than Allah, His Messenger, and striving in His cause.
[Surah al-Mā’idah: 54]
"O you who believe! Whoever among you turns back from his religion, Allah will bring forth a people whom He will love and they will love Him—humble towards the believers, stern against the disbelievers, striving in the path of Allah, and not fearing the blame of any critic. That is the grace of Allah which He gives to whom He wills, and Allah is All-Encompassing, All-Knowing."
➤ True believers are defined by love for Allah, strength in faith, courage in daʿwah, and firmness in truth—all signs of authentic love for the Divine.
[Surah al-Baqarah: 165]
"Among the people are those who take others besides Allah as equals to Him; they love them as they should love Allah. But those who believe are stronger in their love for Allah..."
➤ The believer’s love for Allah is stronger, purer, and more sincere than the misguided love people may have for worldly figures or false deities.
❀ Narrated by Anas ibn Mālik
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“There are three qualities, whoever possesses them will taste the sweetness of faith: that Allah and His Messenger are more beloved to him than all else; that he loves a person only for the sake of Allah; and that he hates to return to disbelief as he would hate to be thrown into the Fire.”
Muttafaqun ʿAlayh – Bukhārī 16, Muslim 43/67
❀ Narrated by Anas ibn Mālik
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“None of you truly believes until I become more beloved to him than his family, his wealth, and all the people.”
Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 69/44
