Sign of the Day of Judgment: The Appearance of False Prophets and Dajjal

Hazrat Abu Huraira (RA) narrates that the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said: "The Day of Judgment will not come until about thirty Dajjal and liars appear, each of whom will claim to be a prophet."

Hazrat Jabir bin Samurah (RA) narrates that the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said: "Before the Day of Judgment, false people will appear; beware of them."

Narrated from Jabir bin Samurah (RA) that the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said: "This religion will remain until there are twelve caliphs from Quraysh. Then before the Day of Judgment, liars will appear. A large group of Muslims will acquire the white treasures of Khosrow."

Hazrat Abu Huraira (RA) narrates that the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said: "I saw in a dream that I had golden bracelets in my hands which caused me great distress. Then I was told to blow on them. When I blew, they repented. I interpret this dream to mean that two liars will appear: one is Musaylimah the liar and the other is (Aswad) Ansi the liar."

Hazrat Ubaidullah bin Abdullah (RA) narrates: Musaylimah the liar came to Medina to the house of Bint Harith, and the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) went there with Thabit bin Qais (RA). He had a stick on which he leaned while talking to him. Musaylimah said, "If you leave the leadership and authority to me after you, I will make peace." The Prophet (PBUH) said: "If you ask me for this stick as well, I will never give it to you. I have been shown your end in a dream. Thabit bin Qais will answer your remaining questions on my behalf." Saying this, he turned back.

Benefits:
(1) The appearance of Dajjal, liars, and false claimants of prophethood before the Day of Judgment is a sign of the Day of Judgment.
(2) This sign will begin during the blessed time of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and continue until the Day of Judgment, with the Great Dajjal being the last link in this chain.
(3) The number of false claimants of prophethood will be approximately thirty (30).
Hafiz Ibn Hajar states that the narrations mentioning more than thirty are not supported by authentic chains. Even if accepted as authentic, it means that about thirty will claim prophethood while the rest will be mere liars.
Reference: Fath al-Bari: 93/13

(4) During the time of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), two individuals claimed prophethood: Musaylimah and Aswad Ansi. The latter was killed by the companions during the Prophet’s lifetime, while the former (Musaylimah the liar) was punished in the era of Caliph Abu Bakr during the Battle of Yamama. Similarly, a woman named Sajjah bint Harith claimed prophethood, then married Musaylimah the liar and, as a dowry, got her people exempted from Fajr and Isha prayers. But when Musaylimah was killed, she repented. Additionally, Talha bin Khuwailid Al-Asadi also claimed prophethood but later repented and returned to Islam, remaining sincere until his death.
Mukhtar bin Abi Ubaid Al-Thaqafi appeared wearing the cloak of love for Ahl al-Bayt and demanding the blood of Hussain. After gaining fame, he claimed prophethood but eventually met a terrible death and went to Hell. Harith the liar claimed during the caliphate of Abdul Malik bin Marwan and was killed. Several liars appeared during the Abbasid era and met bad ends.

(5) Imam Ibn Taymiyyah states that the "liar" from the tribe of Thaqif refers to Mukhtar Al-Thaqafi, while the "deadly" refers to Hajjaj bin Yusuf.
Reference: Al-Nubuwwat p. 441

This was also said by Hazrat Asma bint Abi Bakr (RA) about Hajjaj bin Yusuf.
Reference: Muslim Kitab Fada'il al-Sahabah: Bab Dhikr Kadhab Thaqif wa Mubirha: 2545

(6) According to the prediction of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), many liar Dajjal have appeared in history and have earned their share of disgrace and humiliation, while many remain to fall into the depths of disgrace until the Day of Judgment.
(7) Mirza Ghulam Ahmad Qadiani is also included in the list of false prophets, who changed forms like a chameleon but became infamous during his lifetime due to his refusal to repent.
(8) Pir Riyaz Ahmad, known as Gohar Shahi, is also striving to have his name included in this list. He should take lessons from the disgraced ones before him and repent without delay, sincerely embracing Islam and dying as such, as exemplified by Talha bin Khuwailid.
(9) Some people will not claim prophethood but will distort the true image of Islam through their lies, deception, and trickery, thus becoming deserving of the punishment of Hell. According to Hafiz Ibn Hajar, the high and inner Shia, and the Sufis who believe in Wahdat al-Wujud and Hulool, also fall into this category. (اللهم لا تجعلنا منهم)
Reference: Fath al-Bari: 93/13

(10) The Great Dajjal will be the leader of all liars, Dajjal, and false prophets. His appearance will be close to the Day of Judgment, and he will break all previous records of deception and fraud.
