Sign of the Day of Judgment: Abundance of Wealth

وعن أبى هريرة رضى الله عنه أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال : لا تقوم الساعة حتى يكثر المال ويفيض حتى يخرج الرجل بزكاة ماله فلا يجد أحدا يقبلها
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (RA) that the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said: "The Day of Judgment will not come until wealth becomes abundant. (Wealth and riches will be so plentiful that a person will go out with zakat money but will find no one to accept zakat.)"

وعنه عن النبى صلى الله عليه وسلم قال : لا تقوم الساعة حتى يفيض فيكم المال وحتى يهم الرجل بماله من يقبله منه حين يتصدق به فيقول الذى يعرض عليه لا أرب لي به
Hazrat Abu Huraira (RA) says that the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said: "Before the Day of Judgment, wealth and riches will be abundant to the extent that a man will go out to give charity with wealth, but the person to whom he offers it will say: I do not need it."

It is narrated from Hazrat Haritha bin Wahib (RA) that the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said: "Give charity and alms, soon (a time will come when) a man will go out to give charity but there will be no one to receive it."

In one narration it is said: "The person to whom charity is offered will say: If you had come yesterday, I would have accepted this wealth, but today I do not need it."
It is narrated from Hazrat Thawban (RA) that the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said: "Allah has gathered the earth for me, so I have seen the east and west of the earth. Surely the rule of my Ummah will reach as far as I have been shown, and I have also been given two treasures, red and white (gold and silver)."

Hazrat Abu Huraira (RA) says that the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said: "The earth will bring forth its treasures like pillars of gold and silver; a murderer will come and say: For this (wealth) I committed murder. A person who cut ties of kinship will come and say: For this (wealth) I severed family relations. A thief will come and say: For this, my hand was cut off. Then all of them will leave that treasure there and depart."

Hazrat Uday bin Hatim (RA) says that he was with the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) when a man came complaining of poverty and hunger, then another came complaining of robbery. The Prophet (PBUH) said: "Uday! Have you seen Hira?" I said: I have not seen it but have heard of it. He said: "If you live long, you will see a woman travel alone in a litter and perform Tawaf of the Kaaba, and she will have only the fear of Allah." I thought about the robbers of Mullah who have caused havoc everywhere. (Then the Prophet (PBUH) said) "If you live long, you will see the treasures of Kisra being conquered." I said: Kisra bin Hormuz (the King of Persia)! He said: (Yes) Kisra bin Hormuz. (Then he said) "If you live long, you will see a man going out with a handful of gold and silver to give to a deserving person but no one will accept it." Hazrat Uday (RA) says that I have seen a woman traveling from Hira to perform Tawaf of the Kaaba and she fears only Allah (no fear of thieves or robbers), and I was among those who conquered the treasures of Kisra. Also, if you live long, you will see the third prophecy of Abu al-Qasim (the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)) fulfilled.

Hazrat Abu Saeed (RA) says that the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said: "Among your rulers, there will be a ruler (Caliph) who will distribute wealth generously without accounting. If a beggar comes to him, he will allow him to take as much as he wants, and the beggar will spread his cloak and fill it." The Prophet (PBUH) spread his cloak and held its edges and said by way of simile that the beggar will fill the cloak like this and then carry it away.

Benefits:
(1) Abundance of wealth is a sign of the Day of Judgment.
(2) This sign has two phases: one relates to the era of the Sahabah (companions), and the other relates to the time of Imam Mahdi and Hazrat Isa (Jesus).
(3) During the time of the Sahabah, the treasures of Rome and Persia were conquered, and wealth was abundant everywhere.
(4) In the era of Hazrat Umar bin Abdul Aziz (RA), wealth was so abundant that even the deserving recipients of zakat and charity were hard to find despite great effort.
(5) The prophecy made by the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) to Hazrat Uday (RA) was fulfilled exactly.
(6) In the present era, receivers are visible everywhere, but givers are absent, InshaAllah.
(7) Before the Day of Judgment, a Caliph will appear who will revive the era of the Sahabah with blessings and wealth.
(8) According to Hafiz Ibn Kathir, Ibn Hajar, and other commentators, this Caliph refers to Imam Mahdi.

Also, all the hadiths support this.
(9) The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was shown the earth, which is not beyond the power of Allah.
(10) The Prophet (PBUH) said: I have been given red and white treasures, meaning "wealth," because during the era of the Sahabah, the treasures of Rome and Persia were conquered.
(11) Before the signs of the Day of Judgment, one should give charity and alms to earn reward; also, every person's death is a form of the Day of Judgment for them, so one should think about charity and alms before death. Moreover, death can seize anyone at any time.
(12) For Muslims, wealth is both a test and a trial.
