❖ Question:

A specific type of bracelet worn on the wrist has been asked about, which is:

◈ Magnetic on the inside.
◈ Made of iron on the outside.
◈ Approximately the width of a finger, resembling a bangle/bracelet.

It is claimed that:
◈ The magnetic power of this bracelet is beneficial for blood pressure.
◈ According to some, even certain doctors recommend it to patients.
◈ Many patients say that wearing it helps regulate blood pressure.

The question is: Does this magnetic bracelet fall under the ruling of tamimah, tawlah, or witr (amulets and charms)?
This bracelet is commonly sold in Saudi Arabia, and the questioner received it from someone there.

❖ Answer:

Alhamdulillah, wassalatu wassalamu ‘ala Rasulillah, amma ba’d:

◈ The magnetic bracelets that are worn for reducing blood pressure or controlling circulation are not classified as tamimah, tawlah, or witr.

◈ However, such bracelets are not free from resembling the ornaments of the people of Hellfire (ḥilyah ahl al-nār), meaning their outward appearance and style are disliked in Shari‘ah.

◈ For this reason, their usage is not deemed permissible.
