Can the prescribed supplications and practices (wazāif and ma‘mulāt) of a pious scholar be adopted for human benefit? What is the ruling on writing Qur’anic verses in the form of amulets and wearing them? Also, to what extent do such practices bring benefit?
Alhamdulillah, wassalatu wassalamu ‘ala Rasulillah, amma ba’d:
If the wazāif or regular practices of a pious scholar are not in conflict with the Qur’an and Sunnah, then acting upon them is permissible.
However, the authentic supplications and wazāif found in the Qur’an and Sunnah are far superior and more virtuous than such self-devised practices.
As for amulets, even if they are composed of Qur’anic verses or Hadith:
✿ Writing them, making them, wearing them, or placing them upon someone is not proven from Rasulullah ﷺ.
