◈ A Person Has Died and I Owe Him Some Money – What Should I Do? ◈
It is obligatory upon you to search for the heirs of the deceased and give them the amount owed, because when a person dies, his wealth transfers to his heirs.
If you are unable to identify or locate the heirs, then you must give the amount in charity on behalf of the deceased, making the intention that it is on behalf of the rightful owner.
Allah, through His knowledge, power, and might, will ensure that the reward reaches the one to whom it is due.
