❀ Detailed Question
Zayd’s real daughter told Bakr:
"This is your daughter; marry her to any righteous boy you deem suitable.”
Bakr arranged her marriage with a boy who shaves his beard, even though the girl had completed Dars-e-Niẓāmī. Bakr himself is a pious, elderly scholar, around sixty years old.
This boy (the girl’s husband) frequently visits Bakr’s house and often stays in seclusion with her, while she does not observe purdah from Bakr.
ʿUmar and other companions advised Bakr:
"Respected Sir! You should not sit alone with this girl in such a manner, otherwise you may face slander, and even your religious standing may be affected.”
Bakr replied:
"I have taken medicines for impotence, you may verify through a medical examination. I promised her help, and I have my justification for this.”
People further advised him:
"There are many other ways to help her.”
But Bakr responded:
"You are only envious of her."
Due to this situation, many ignorant people began raising harsh accusations against Bakr, some even uttering indecent things unworthy of mention.
Now the question arises:
Is Bakr at fault here, or are those people wrong who, in goodwill, tried to stop him?
❀ Answer
Al-ḥamdu lillāh, waṣ-ṣalātu was-salāmu ʿalā Rasūlillāh, ammā baʿd!
From the situation described:
✿ Bakr’s behavior is not correct in Sharʿī terms.
✿ He must immediately abandon this practice.
✿ He should also perform sincere repentance (tawbah naṣūḥ) for what he has already done.
