❀ Question

What is the ruling on marrying into the Masʿūdī group?

❀ Answer

Al-ḥamdu lillāh, waṣ-ṣalātu was-salāmu ʿalā Rasūlillāh, ammā baʿd!

◈ A Muslim man cannot marry a non–Ahl al-Kitāb woman, i.e., one who is a mushrikah or kāfirah and not among the People of the Book.

◈ Similarly, a Muslim woman cannot marry any kāfir or mushrik man, even if he belongs to the People of the Book.

◈ However, the Masʿūdī group is counted among the Muslims, therefore there is no Sharʿī prohibition in marrying into them.
