Severe Warning for Women Wearing Transparent Clothing

❶ Ḥadīth of Abū Hurayrah (RA)
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
صنفان من أهل النار لم أرهما: قوم معهم أسياط كأذناب البقر يضربون بها الناس ، ونساء كاسيات عاريات مميلات مائلات رؤوسهن كأسنمة البخت المائلة ، لا يدخلن الجنة ، ولا يجدن ريحها ، وإن ريحها ليو جد من مسيرة كذا و كذا
“There are two categories of the inhabitants of Hell that I have not seen: A people with whips like the tails of cattle, with which they strike people; and women who are clothed yet naked, deviated and leading others astray, with heads resembling the humps of leaning camels. They will neither enter Paradise nor even smell its fragrance, although its fragrance can be perceived from a distance of such and such.”

❷ Ḥadīth of ʿĀ’ishah (RA)
ʿĀ’ishah (RA) narrated:
أن أسماء بنت أبى بكر دخلت على رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ، وعليها ثياب رقاق ، فأعرض عنها رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم وقال: يا أسماء ، إن المرأة إذا بلغت المحيض لم يصلح أن يرى منها إلا هذا و هذا ، وأشار إلى وجهه و كفيه
“Asma’ bint Abī Bakr (RA) once came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ wearing thin (transparent) clothes. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ turned away from her and said: ‘O Asma’! When a woman reaches puberty, nothing should be seen of her except this and this,’ and he pointed to his face and his hands.”

These narrations clearly state the severe warning for women who wear thin, see-through clothing, describing them as “clothed yet naked”. Such women are deprived of Paradise and even its fragrance. The hadith also sets the guideline that after puberty, a woman should only expose her face and hands.
