❖ Introduction to Saqīq bin Ibrāhīm​


Saqīq bin Ibrāhīm was a well-known narrator from Kūfah, recognized particularly for his narrations related to asceticism (zuhd) and spiritual softening (raqāʾiq). His aḥādīth can be found in various ḥadīth collections.


❖ Scholarly Evaluation (Jarḥ wa Taʿdīl)​


◈ Ibn Ḥibbān​


Included Saqīq bin Ibrāhīm in his book al-Thiqāt, indicating that he considered him trustworthy (thiqah) in terms of narration.


Ibn ʿAdī


He stated that while there is no major flaw in his narrations, some weakness (ḍaʿf) is found in certain reports attributed to him.


al-Dāraquṭnī


Held a stricter stance, not considering him among the strong or reliable narrators.


◈ Ibn Ḥajar al-ʿAsqalānī​


Mentioned him in Lisān al-Mīzān, describing him as not among the highly reliable narrators, but also did not outright reject all of his narrations.


◈ Imām Aḥmad bin Ḥanbal​


Regarded him as weak (ḍaʿīf) and did not accept his narrations at a high level of authenticity.

Saqīq bin Ibrāhīm cannot be labeled as outright weak, but he is also not considered among the upper-tier reliable narrators. While some scholars accepted his narrations, others graded him as weak. Therefore, his narrations require careful scrutiny, with consideration to context and corroborating evidence from other sources.
