Evidence of Satan Fearing Sayyiduna Umar Farooq (رضی اللہ عنہ)

Incident of the Drum (Duff):

Sayyiduna Buraidah (رضی اللہ عنہ) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) returned from a battle. Upon his return, a black girl approached and said:

"O Messenger of Allah! I had made a vow that if Allah brought you back safely, I would beat the drum (duff) and sing in your presence. May I do so now?"
The Prophet (ﷺ) replied:

"If you made a vow, then beat it, but if you did not, then do not."

She began playing the drum. Sayyiduna Abu Bakr Siddiq (رضی اللہ عنہ) entered, and she continued playing. Then Sayyiduna Ali (رضی اللہ عنہ) entered, and she continued playing. After that, Sayyiduna Uthman (رضی اللہ عنہ) came in, and she still kept playing. However, when Sayyiduna Umar Farooq (رضی اللہ عنہ) entered, she immediately threw the drum under her and sat on it.

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) remarked:

"O Umar! Even Satan fears you. I was sitting here while she was playing, and she continued when Abu Bakr, Ali, and Uthman entered. But when you entered, she threw the drum away."
[Sunan al-Tirmidhi, Hadith No. 3690; Sunan Abi Dawood, Hadith No. 3288]

Satan Avoiding Umar (رضی اللہ عنہ):

Sayyiduna Sa’d bin Abi Waqqas (رضی اللہ عنہ) narrated that the Prophet (ﷺ) said:

"O son of Al-Khattab! By the One in Whose hand is my soul, whenever Satan sees you walking on a wide path, he takes a different path from yours."
[Sahih al-Bukhari, Hadith No. 5735; Sahih Muslim, Hadith No. 2396]

Human and Jinn Devils Fleeing Umar (رضی اللہ عنہ):

Mother of the Believers, Aisha Siddiqah (رضی اللہ عنہا), narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:

"Indeed, I see the devils among humans and jinn fleeing from Umar."
[Sunan al-Tirmidhi, Hadith No. 3624; Al-Silsilah al-Saheehah, Hadith No. 1609]
